Chapter 6

"Smithy! U r not gonna believe this! I just learnt how to ride a sleigh & we're gonna deliver....hey! What's wrong?" David exclaims excitedly, but stops when he sees a sullen Matt sitting on the porch steps. He sits beside him. "Are u ok? If this is about me yelling at ya, I'm really sorry,'kay? I just didn't think u'd be so sens...." David begins to apologize, but is silenced by Matt who presses against him & kisses him! David pulls away in surprise. "That's the third time we've kissed!" he mutters, still reeling from the kiss. "Fourth, actually!" Matt corrects, kissing him again, before pressing his lips against David's neck. "Stop! We can't do this! It doesn't feel right....an' it's freezing out here!" David excuses himself, jumping up & turning towards the door. Matt grabs his hand. "Stay. I need to talk to u about something." he pleads. David agrees to stay & sits down . Matt sniffles & David notices the tears streaming down his cheek. "Are u crying?" he asks, as Matt wipes them away with the back of his hand. "No...I might be catching a cold." he lies. "What's the matter, Smithy?" David asks, with a friendly smile. "I'm falling for u, Dave...." he replies. David's friendly smile disappears. "When did u first realize this?" he enquires, stunned by Matt's revelation. "Ever since I first kissed u at Snow's place. I bloody missed u the whole time I was in prison....couldn't get u outta my mind!" he confesses. "Smithy, that kiss was unintentional." David exclaims. "But, this one was intentional, Dave! I meant what I said.....I really do love u!" Matt proclaims. David's speechless for awhile. "I just wanna be friends, Smithy." he confesses. Matt breaks down, while David embraces him to console him. "I'm sorry..." David apologizes, with a friendly pat on the back . "I'll be fine....I...I just need some time..."a tearful Matt mutters, burying his face in David's jacket. Suddenly, the door swings open. "Sorry for interrupting ur warm moment in this chilly weather, but we don't have time to waste. We've got presents to deliver!" an impatient Elfira reminds. "So...u wanna fly a sleigh with me?" David asks,once Matt composes himself. "I'd love to!" Matt obliges, as David pulls him to his feet.
