^Aaron^

I went over to grans for a light snack after school, she wasn't there so I decided to chill in the back.

"Hello? Is anyone here? If so make ourselves known!" I heard my gran yell annoyance evident in her voice. "Just me gran!" I yelled while stuffing my face with a ham and cheese bagel,"Oh! Aaron, I just ran into your friend, Rayne, such a sweet girl!" She cooed while entering the room. "Stubborn and goody two shoes is more like it, but where exactly did you see her?" I asked curiously,"Over at the Bi-Mart, she's a cashier, lovely girl." She said as she put away her groceries, "She works there? Do you think she's still there gran?" I stood up with a hopeful smile in my face,"Someone looks excited.." She lord at me with a smile and a suspicious look,"Um, I don't know what you mean, but you didn't answer my question yet." I tried to hide my smile, unsuccessfully.

"Yeah, she's still there, she got there when I got in line, then she helped me." I nodded and headed out the door,"Thanks gran!" She waved at me and I jogged to my sedan and put the keys in the ignition.
I drove over to the local Bi-Mart and waited in the employees parking area,"Just got to wait a few hours, then I can drive her home." I said while getting out and sitting on the hood of the car.

-4 hours later-
I was leaning back against the grill of my sedan when I heard a door creak open. I peaked one eye open and saw Rayne walk out with a blank expression, I smiled and watched as she sat on a bench and opened her bag. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, does she smoke or something? I got my answer when she pulled out a tin box and something shiny was in her palm and she held it to her wrist.
I glared and hurriedly made my way towards her,"What the fuck do you think your doing!?" I said balling my fists angrily, she glanced at me, but looked back down at the razor, her eyes started to fill with tears. "Put that the fuck down, NOW." I said angrily, she let it slip between her finger still looking at her wrist, I sat down next to her and pulled her into my lap and she started to bawl, I rocked her back and forth whispering compliments and sweet things into her ear. She started sniffling and I thought she might want space.
But once I set her down, her face contorted to loneliness and I scooped her back up and pressed her back into my lap and chest. I gently grabbed her wrist and placed a feather light kiss  on it, "Why would you do this Ray?" I said upset, she looked at it with a blank expression, "I needed it.
"I frowned and cupped her cheeks,"You don't need it, you can get rid of it just as easily as you smile at my obnoxiousness." She giggled weakly, "I can't j-" I made her make eye contact with me And she closed her mouth,"Ray, you don't need to cut, life makes enough scars by itself, you don't need to manufacture your own." She looked down and sniffled,"It's j-just hard, I go throughout my days trying to be the peppy girl when all I am is broken and dirty.." She sniffled again and looked away with an ashamed look on her face.
"You may be broken, but I can assure you Rayne, in no way are you dirty, your just a little lost." I looked at her with a smile and she returned it slightly. "And I have a question, what are you even doing here Aaron?" She looked at me with a curious expression,"Gran told me about this stubborn girl who was at a cashier at this store and I though, 'Hey! Let's go see who this stubborn girl is!' And here I am waiting for you for about 4 in a half hours." She looked at me in surprise. "Why would you wait that long Aaron? Wait, don't you have homework or something?" She eyed me suspiciously,"Well, I do have homework, but I thought you might want a ride home, and please don't turn me down coldly again, a guy can only handle so much rejection Ray." I said chuckling at myself, she smiled, "But only if you pull up and drive away as quick as possible, please." She said with a serious expression.

I nodded and picked her up, she squealed and hit my chest,"Put me down Aaron!" I chuckled,"Only if you climb on my back!" I declared she nodded defeated and I let her hop down. She walked around slipped on her bag over her shoulder and I bent down slightly for her to jump on. I felt her lightly jump and she wrapped her arms around my neck and I grabbed her thighs, I felt her shiver and I smirked. I adjusted her and walked to the car.
"So, where's the destination?" I felt her stiffen against my back,"Reynolds street, I'll point out the house when we're there.." I nodded and set her down on the passenger side as I jogged to the drivers. I unlocked it and we both hopped in and took off for Reynolds street.
"Which one Ray?" I whispered, she held up her finger to point at a rickety old two story house, as I pulled up she turned to me and whispered a thank you and was about to open the door but she quickly leaned over the console and kissed my cheek lightly,"Bye Aaron!" She said while closing the door. As she jogged up the little walkway I couldn't help but stare after her in shock, and my mouth was hanging open probably,  I watched as she put her hand on the knob and a big African American man swung the door open and glared, she motioned her hand for me to go and I reluctantly made my way home. I couldn't stop thinking about how that man looked at her, did he give her that split lip? He couldn't have right? I mean, this is Rayne were talking about, she wouldn't provoke or do anything hostile unless she was profusely provoked, right?
I shrugged it all off as I pulled into my driveway and climbed up the tree to my room. I pushed the window open and climbed into my room and grabbed my Marlboro pack and lit my cigarette, I couldn't wait to see her sparkling eyes looking at mine, she was probably look at mine with annoyance or boredom, but hey, I'll take what I can get.
