Chapter 2 Dont Cry

*Your POV*
You let out a sob when you see Luke. His left hand is wrapped up in a cast and you see lots of IV tubs in his arm. He has lots of cuts and scratches on his face and body. He sees you and mumbles something."What?" You ask, coming closer to him,"My lo..." He try's to say,"My... My love..." He gets out. And he tries to smile at you. You try and give a little smile back but instead you end up placing your head on the side of the bed and start crying. Just that he was able to remember you right away touches your heart deeply.
"Hi... H-hi baby." You say,
"A-are you alright? Did someone do this to you?..." You ask. The boys come in and sit down around you and him."My... My head... I-I can't think..." He says," Mikey, can you go get someone? Please?" Mikey nods and gets up to get someone."Y/n... I miss... Missed you so m-much..." He says, looking into your eyes. He sees that they have tears in them and says,"Oh, why... Why are y-you crying?..." You look up at him with tears blurring your vision,"I'm not. No, I'm fine, Luke. This isn't about me. This is about you. What happened?" You wipe away your tears and wait for a reply. He tries to start but then Mikey and a nurse walk in and the nurse comes over to Luke.
"Is he alright?" You hear Ashton ask from behind you,"Yes. He's doing just fine. He's still lightheaded from earlier and all of the drugs we gave him. You all can stay but I think it's best that you don't try and talk to him for now. He needs to rest." She says,"Okay..." You say and you and the boys go and sit on the couch. They all sit around you and Calum puts his arms around you and Ashton says,"Don't worry, y/n. It'll be alright. He's going to recover from this, okay? Y/n?" You just block his voice out and begin to cry... Again. Your Luke is sitting 5 feet away from you, in pain... And you can't do anything to help. He is just laying there covered in bruises and cuts all over. 'No! Stop thinking about it!' You tell yourself. But you can't. It's almost impossible to not think about what happened and how he feels right now. Eventually, you hear Ashton walk out of the room, but come back a few minutes later. He sits next you you and holds your hand. You rest your head on his shoulder and fall asleep.
You wake up to what looks like about an hour later. But all of the boys are around you looking scared,"Y/n! Y/n, what happened? You were screaming and crying out to Luke in your sleep! What's wrong?" Ashton asks,"What? I don't... I don't remember anything." You bring your hand up to your face and feel all of the tears on your cheeks."What happened to me..?" "We don't know," Mikey answers,"You just started to fidget and scream and cry."
You look around the room and see Luke still in his bed, sleeping. Suddenly you remember everything that had happened to him and you just lay your head back down on the couch pillow,"Is he still doing okay? Luke, I mean." You ask the boys,"Yeah... He's fine. But we need to get going now. Visiting hours ended 10 minutes ago. Come on, y/n." Calum says as Ash and him help you up.
As you make your way to the door you look at Luke and go over to him and give him a kiss on the cheek before walking out. Sadly, he doesn't wake up. But you know that it's for the best... For him. You and the boys get into Calum's black van and drive to an apartment about 5-6 blocks away. 'Thank God we're so close...' You thought. You get your things out of the van and take them to the room you're staying in. After a few minutes you come back out of the room in your PJs to find all of the boys talking quietly in the living room. You stay hidden and listen,"We can't keep this from her. She'll find out eventually." "Ash, no. We have to wait. We'll just let Luke tell her when he's out of the hospital." "Guys, guys! We NEED to tell her. She can't just wait for him to tell her. She's his girlfriend. She deserves to know... Now."
You hear the boys talking and suddenly have a need to know what they're keeping from you about Luke,"Hey guys!" You say as you enter the room. They all look at you and smile, but not real smiles,"Hey y/n! We were... Erm... Just talking about you." Calum says,"Oh, I know," You say, now wiping the smile off your face and going serious,"So... What is it about Luke that you aren't telling me? Seems pretty important to whisper about."
The boys all exchange looks of concern, and the Mikey bursts out,"Y/n, I'm sorry guys, but there's something you need to know!" Calum and Ashton turn to Mikey and say, together,"DUDE!?" But Mikey just ignores them and continues,"Y/n.... We... Know what happened." You come in and sit down in a chair, ready for the information that's about to be told,"Luke... Luke was going to his... Girlfriend's house when he got hit-" "Wait, what? What are you saying?" You interrupt,"Are you saying that Luke, MY boyfriend, has another girl? And is... Is CHEATING on me!?" You start to feel your heart breaking and tears forming."Well..." Mikey begins, but then Ashton says,"....Yes... Actually. He was going there to... To stay the night... We think-" Calum then slaps Ashton's arm and interrupts/mumbles,"Ash! What are you DOING?" Ashton says,"I told you. She's just gonna find out anyway." He looks back at you, and in all seriousness, continues,"He said he was going to spend the night with her. NOW DONT GO DOING ANYTHING YOU'LL REGRET, Y/N! Okay? He just... We think he found someone else and-" "Wow, Ash! GREAT way to put it! 'Oh yeah, he loves someone else! Blah, blah-blah, blah-blahhhh!'" Calum interrupts and mocks Ashton."Guys!" You say,"So, you're saying that... That my Luke- OUR Luke... Is going behind my back and cheating on me?" You start to cry a little. You can feel yourself trying to choke back all the tears you can."Well, not exactly." Mikey says,"Then what are you trying to say!?" You begin to yell,"I'm not... It's just hard... Fine, yes... We think he's cheating on you... Maybe..." With these word you stand up and run up to your room sobbing. You jump into bed and wrap your whole body under the covers. 'Luke! LUKE! My boyfriend... CHEATING!?' You tell yourself,'You're just not good enough then... That's why he got someone else... That's why he doesn't like you anymore... That's why he hasn't been texting you as often anymore... No! Luke is gone and it's YOUR FAULT! YOURS!!' You can't fight back the thoughts and the sobs and wheezing coming from your mouth now. Now the boys are pounding on the door to get in, but you just drown them out. You can't stop the things going through your head.'Thats it.' You tell yourself,'I told Luke I'd never do this again... But he broke a promise too... That he would never cheat or lie... But now I get to break a promise too.' You get up and go to your bathroom. The boys hear the door to the bathroom open and start screaming at you to let them in because they know exactly what you're going to do. You go into the bathroom and lock the door, as you hear the other one being broke down and the boys running to the one you're now behind."Y/n, let us in now! Don't you dare hurt yourself! Y/n? Y/N, DO YOU HEAR US!? STOP THIS NOW!" Ashton yells. You just ignore them and go into the bathtub and close the curtains. You look at yourself in the bathtub mirror and see the tears and redness of your eyes in it. You suddenly drop down and grab the razor and step out of the bathtub."Y/N, OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!! DONT DO IT, YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS AND SO MUCH STRONGER!!!" You hear Mikey scream,"NO! I am not, Mikey!" You shout back,"I am weak-pathetic-useless-stupid-ugly-and a HORRIBLE GIRLFRIEND!!!" You begin to cry and scream and sob even harder now. For all of the things you said about yourself, you cut your wrist. 6 cuts for your 6 imperfections. You drop down the the floor and back yourself up against the wall crying and bleeding. You hear Calum say that he's gonna break down the door and then-BAM! The door is down on the floor and the boys are running in,"Oh.... Oh my God... Y/n,what have you done?..." Ashton whispers,"I-I can't go on... He doesn't love me and couldn't tell me... So instead of telling me strait up he goes behind my back a-and cheats...." You croak out. With all of your crying and screaming it's hard to talk,"Just leave me alone already, guys... Luke doesn't love me... So why should you...." Calum comes over and picks you up off the ground,"No. No, we will never leave you to harm yourself more, y/n. You got that? Never." He tells you. He lays you down in your bed and pulls the covers over you. Ashton comes over and wraps your arm in a bandage and tells you,"We all love you. Okay? We don't know why Luke might have done this. And we might be wrong, but that's what we heard him say on the phone. I love you." He says and Calum and Mikey say the same and walk out of the room to let you sleep. After about 2 hours of laying awake, silently crying, you eventually fall asleep.
