Chapter 2

2213

Will’s Apartment

3:00 PM

Will was pulled out of school for a day. Will was interrogated by a NYPD detective, then was asked

to come in for more questions by a customs agent and someone from homeland security. Will kept his

promise and didn't mention anything about the other car. The first car was taken in for prints. The

police knew the dead man had two cars, but the

other car wasn’t reported missing by his wife. Will felt he should have talked to her about it, but

he didn't know what to say or even how to say it.

Once all the interrogations were over, Will left to seek the car. Will walked a five block radius

around Martin’s Apartment Complex, and he finally found the car. The car, luckily, wasn’t towed or

ticketed. Will discovered it by pressing the horn button on the remote start. Will approached the

car with great caution because he knew what he was doing was

illegal. He looked over his shoulders to make sure nobody was watching him. He opened the passenger

door and checked the glove compartment, backseat, then the trunk: nothing but random papers, mostly

from the museum, and he found tools in the backseat. He even looked under the hood—nothing. Before

he gave up, he checked the driver side one more time. When he tried to close the door, the inside

handle came off. The handle was actually a cover of a small, hidden compartment. Inside the small,

hidden compartment was a locked suitcase that had a gold emblem on it. Will recognized the emblem

from the museum. He didn’t remember what it meant but figured it was ancient Egyptian. He took the

suitcase out of the car and walked back home. Once Will got inside his house, he unlocked the

briefcase with the code 2213—the code he had seen written in blood. Inside, there were four jewel

cases lined up like a crooked diamond symbol. In the middle was a hollow empty space. In all this

excitement, the phone rang.

"Hello, Robertsons’ residence. Oh hey, Rich. Nothing, nothing. I found something like museum

findings. No it was in that guy that got killed’s car. No, I'm not crazy. He told me not

… well, be ready to open your door. I'm coming over." Will hung up the phone and packed up the

suitcase.

Richard’s Apartment

3:52 PM

Will and Richard examined everything in the boxes like they knew what they were doing. In each box

were rings. Each ring was shaped differently than the other. The outsides were round, but the

fittings were oddly shaped. They each looked like they fit mechanical bolts. In each jewel box were
