The Twenty Melbourne Painters Society (TMPS) was established in 1918 with the view of mounting annual exhibitions of members' work. Over nine decades later the society's aesthetic remains firmly grounded in classical disciplines, recognizing that the pictorial elements of tone, form, colour and drawing, are vital prerequisites of fine painting.

A long sigh breaks the silence of the room as Sabrina puts down the latest Art magazine that she's reading. 10:30 that's it? Sabrina thinks to herself as she stares longingly at the clock on the wall. She checks her phone for any new messages before walking downstairs to get herself a cup of chai latte.

Sabrina, 'The Artist' as many people like to call her, is a very peaceful girl who loves the simplicities in life. Unlike many students at her school, Sabrina likes to reflect upon the deeper meanings of life. Born in Central America and brought over to Australia, Sabrina has an array of many hidden talents, yet, there are many secrets that she hides. She finds it very difficult to open up to others about her feelings, let alone even trying to make new friends. Sabrina calls herself an introvert, but an extrovert when she's with people whom she's most comfortable around. Clingy? No. Sensitive? Yes. But's it's alright to be sensitive, however, Sabrina believes that her sensitivity is a burden to her, along with many other character traits that she has.

"So, the buddying artist has finally emerged from her cave," Sabrina's mother, Angela says with a smile.

"Ciao mamma. I'm just having a break from studying at the moment." Angela nods her head before replying.

"I'm off the gym now. I'll be back at around 1:00, if not, 1:30. Don't rest for too long though. Remember you have a lot of homework." Angela then grabs her bag and walks out the front door. It's Sunday and it's still morning. How long is this day going to be?

Sabrina then slowly strolls over to the lounge room and sits on the couch. She turns the television on and watches Food Network. One of her favourite shows is on, however, Sabrina isn't concentrating on the show. She's staring at a photo of someone on her phone. Why won't she talk to me? Did I do something wrong? Maybe I said something hurtful? After a few moments, Sabrina turns the television off and goes upstairs to her bedroom. Maybe I'll ask someone on MPA. See what they think about the situation. Sabrina logs into her MPA account to find a message from one of her 'online friend's'.

Hey! *hugs*

Sorry for the late reply! I've just been so busy with things and I haven't been feeling too good. I'm sorry about your crush. Have you tried talking to her? Or you could ask one of your friends to talk to her on your behalf? I know my crush hasn't spoken to me in a while, so I can relate to how you're feeling. So what are you doing? I'm trying to do some homework, but I'm procrastinating ha-ha.

Sabrina pauses for a moment before replying to her friend:

Hey! *hugs*

I tried getting a mutual friend to ask her whether she would like to be part of my Art folio, but she hasn't replied. All she does is read the message and ignore it. Would it be creepy if I said I have photos of her on my phone? I don't know. I'm just not in the right headspace at the moment. What about you? I hope you feel better soon. Xxx

The phone rings and Sabrina picks it up only to find that it's one of her friends, Christie. "Hey Christie!"

"Hey Sabrina, I still don't have a reply from Alexandra, but I can ask again if you like? Maybe she's busy and she forgot to reply?"

"Oh, um, yeah. I guess that might work. Thanks!" Sabrina just leans against her chair. Why do I even bother? I mean, nothing is going to happen. I'm so stupid! She's basically telling me to fuck off anyway. But why do I always get the feeling that she's going to reply? She's a dancer. We have nothing in common! But maybe we do? Why am I so messed up? She then hangs up before going back to her studying.
