The Apocalypse

The beginning

It began with the nuclear power plant being built , that day I knew it would eventually cause something terrible it was just my gut feeling and here is the story of what followed in the future which is now my past. I am kana one of few blessed to survive this disaster and now stuck in the apocalypse of said disaster. The nuclear plant did as planned at first but as years went on in this town the people working the plant keeping it safe and stable began to grow careless and tired. Eventually they grew to hate us and our ability to not be stuck working in radiation and danger due to their hate they stopped working and as monthes went by with the towns people blissfully unaware of the plant growing unstable and becoming a ticking time bomb I was watching an the rioting workers slowly decreased. Little did I know they were dieing from radiation poisoning due to their carelessness because they refused to wear the radiation safety suits. And the day finally came after 3 years and 5monthes of building up the plant finally exploded and I was out of town on a trip to Japan to visit family. That trip saved my life but when I reached my home town the radiation was low enough for me to survive but, I had my own radiation safety suit so I wore it to be safe I could tell it finally blew up. Now to me and my adventures now in the present. (bold is actions) kana was fighting the mutated radiated corpses of the people of her home town as she finished off the last of a small herd of mutant corpses she wiped her forehead sweating a bit and sheathed her dual swords phew finally freaking got them all down now lets see if I can find some good food kana went digging around rubble for canned food or bottled water. As kana searched she found a Six pack of bottled water and a can of beans and peaches. Unfortunately it seems something bit holes into three of the bottles and drank them but she was still grateful to find some water and some food. She'd already gone two days without food and a day without water so she quickly drank a bit of the water but was sure to save some for later. Finally I got freaking water better move before another herd of two come find me. She climbed the fire escape on the outside of an apartment complex building and got to the roof and saw another survivor who was a girl. Hi there I'm kana Oakley , how long have you been out here? ??:a few hours.. What's wrong with all the other people... Kana then realized this girl was a little kid (italic bold is thoughts) she's just a little girl and she looks 9 years old I guess it's good I came up she could've gotten herself killed and turned into a radiated zombie.. Look kid.. You better stick with me from here on unless you have some friends your waiting for, do you? Kid:no ma'am I'm trying to find my mom we came here a year ago to live here she went to town by herself a few days back to find food.. She said don't leave this roof no matter what and she'd be back as soon as she could... It's really cold.. Kana dropped her jacket on the girls head wear it it'll keep you from freezing up but listen so you know about the weird glowing Creatures? Girl:glowing Creatures??? I don't know about them but I saw one earlier. It was trying to come up here yesterday why are they bad??? Should I tell her... Dang... I gotta if she is gonna survive.. Yeah kiddo their dangerous they like to hurt people and make them die.. If they bite you then you become one and die.. So kid what's your name? Girl:jamie Springer so... Is it okay if I ask you to help me find my mom? Kana nodded not wanting to disappoint a kid.
