Chapter II

As always, Anna came home around noon and the mood among his parents still heavy. There were three weeks they do not speak, and they fought all the time. It started with the strange behavior of her father George. He began to arrive late at night, and started drinking after four years being sober. George was not an alcoholic, but he would lost his limits when he drank. He was agressive and often fight on the street. Therefore, he had decided to stop drinking.

Anna came in, threw his backpack on the bed and took a shower in order to have lunch. She sat down at the table and waited for her mother to finish lunch.

Celina, her mother, was a tall woman, very beautiful, and she had a very kind heart. Always sought to see the best in people and to do the best for them. She inherited that from her mother. After she finished putting the table sat with her husband. At that moment, Anna stopped and stared at them. She looked in a way that had never looked at. Watched closely throughout the lunch, that couple despite so close seemed so far away. Then she remembered what her teacher had said about her father had a mistress. She asked to herself in her thoughts, "Is it true?"

Anna had a younger sister. Her name was Alice. She was seven and was very much like Anna but spoke a lot and loved to play and make friends.

After lunch, Anna got some rest to be able to do her homework. The afternoon passed so fast. She did not even notice that it was time for dinner. She awoke from a nap when her sister entered in the room making noise. She stood up, put her school supplies that were scattered around the room and was joined up to others. Again, they were all at the table and the heavy weather remained. Again, she remembered the conversation with Arthur and about what he had said. "You can pray"

Once finished dinner George and Alice were watching television and Anna was helping her mother cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes. She was silent and then his mother asked:

- How was school today daughter?

- Just normal. She said.

- Normal? Only that? What is the face then? Celina insisted on asking.

Then she stopped what she was doing and asked to her mother:

- Mother, do you think Dad can have a mistress?

- Where did you hear that Anna? Celina asked surprised by the question of daughter almost whispering.

- Nowhere, mom, I am just asking. Said the girl who already had regrets about the question asked before.

But Celina did not believe in her daughter's apology and was worried About the awkward questions and by her behavior. Therefore, she decided to talk to Anna about things that were happening between her and her husband.

- Daughter, I know that for you this is all new. You had never seen your parents fighting before, but it happens sweetie. I hope everything will be solved as quickly as possible. And I know I will do everything to protect you and your sister, because I love you so much.

Anna was silent and despite all the words of optimism, something inside her she said that a lot still be to come. Then, she felt fear and remembered the teacher's advice: "You can pray."
