Chapter Ten: They're After Us

"Hurry, they are after us!"Mr. Beaver said to Mrs. Beaver.

"Right then..."Mr.s Beaver said, grabbing a things around the room.

"What is she doing?"Peter said in a panicked voice as he glanced to Mr. Beaver who shrugged.

"Don't worry, you'll thank you me later. It's a long journey and a beaver gets cranky when he's hungry."She said, grabbing some supplies and Susan started to help.

"I'M CRANKY NOW!"

Outside

"Take them."Maugrim said, looking back at his pack and they ran down to the dam while growling.

Back Inside

"Do you think we'll need jam?"Susan asked, wrapping everything up.

"Only if the Witch has toast."Peter said, frowning and Susan shot him a look before everyone looked to the door where they heard barking. Soon enough, the wolves started to dig their way in but it was very hard since the dam is made of wood.

Outside

"Hurry."Maugrim said to one of his pack mates and it wasn't long before one of them got through. They started looking around and one of the wolves started whining and scratching at a door before he managed to get it opened, seeing a rope in front of him, he looked down and saw a tunnel and gave a soft growl.

In The Tunnel

"Bdager and me dug this. Comes up right near his place."Mr. Beaver said, looking back every few minutes as Peter held their only source of light.

"You told me it led to your mum's!"Mrs. Beaver said, not sounding happy about being lied to as Lucy trips making everyone stop.

"Lucy."Susan said softly as they stay quiet when they heard running feet.

"They're in the tunnel."Peter met Yugi's eyes and Yugi nodded, picking Lucy up into his arms.

"Quick, this way!"Mr. Beaver said, running again with everyone following.

"Run!"Peter said as they keep turning in different dircetions before they came to an end. Yugi's heart was racing as he put Lucy down and looked back.

"Don't worry, Yugi... I'll hold them off for as long as I can."Yugi heard that voice say and he felt his heart go back to normal speed as he nodded.

"You should have brought a map!"Mrs. Beaver yelled.

"There was no room next to the jam!"Mr. Beaver yelled back before he jumped out of the hole with everyone else following after him but Yugi looked back when he heard a painfilled howl before he jumped out.

"Come on, Lucy!"Susan said, pulling Lucy away from the hole for Peter and Yugi to get out.

Once the both of them got out, they helped push a barrel in the hole with Mr. Beaver and Lucy falls backwards on a bunch of stone things. Lucy sits up while the others turn towards her and Mr. Beaver's eyes widen as Lucy looked up at them. Everyone watched as Mr. Beaver walked over to a statue of a badger and MRs. Beaver puts a hand on Mr. Beaver's shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, dear."She said as Mr. Beaver shakes his head.

"He was my best mate."Mr. Beaver said as Lucy notices some other animals.
