"If you keep talking the seamstress is going to make my pants too big, Muhl." Brad smiled at me from across the room. I snapped my mouth closed and rolled my eyes.

"Congratulations to Brad Johnson, official jerk of the month." I muttered, picking up my lunch bag and walking to the door. Brad's friend James whistled. My friend Tasha followed me and walked behind me to our lockers. She sighed and leaned against the locker next to mine.

"God, I wish I was the one he was trying to play."

"He's an ass hole, don't worry about him." I picked up my school bag and we walked to the stairs and to the third floor of the preppy private school. Kensworth Academy was the 'rich kid' school. People may think that money is all we have, but I think they're just jealous. We kick ass in sports and academics, which is probably why you have to pay so much to get in. We're freaks. I'm the photographic memory kid, and Tasha was the one who never had to study. Some of the other kids may not have a special 'talent,' but they were jocks. They ruled the athletic programs, flying through anything physical.

We were a diverse school, which in itself, I guess, was a good thing. Though no matter where you go, you still have the rich-bitch label hanging over your head. And hey - just because we're rich doesn't make us any better than you! I'm not only the photographic memory kid; I'm the rule-defying one, too. The easiest way for me to rack on people's nerves was the dress code. My skirt was always a few inches too short, my shirt a few buttons too low, and my heels a bit too high. And they can suck my dick.

I wasn't given a choice to get into this life - no - my parents found out about my memory and dragged me across the country a few times and landed me here. The last place I really wanted to be. I hate school, and the rules made it even worse.

As I flipped my brown-blonde hair out of my eyes, the bell rang to signal time to move on to out next class. I dropped my bag onto the wooden table that Tasha and I always shared and the books inside emanated a loud thud around the room. A few of the 'nerds' looked over and quickly diverted their gave when the door opened and Brad and his followers waltzed in. Literally. Apparently it was some kind of an inside joke, because they all stopped and cracked up once they were all inside.

When the teacher, Mr. Jenkins, a forty five year old who wished he was twenty one and on a date with a hot Italian girl, came in, the class calmed down a bit.

"Now that we're starting a new semester, I've assigned you all new seats." Everyone groaned except the 'nerds.'

"Tasha and James." He pointed to the very back table in the row next to the windows. "In front of them, Gabrielle and Brad."

"Fuck." I hissed and stood, moving to my new seat wish the jerk of the month. He looked at me and I could have sworn that the outside of his lip was curving up into a smile.

"This is going to be an interesting semester." I just looked up at his piercing blue eyes, my lips parted as though I was about to say something witty back. Honestly? I had no idea what to say, which was a rare occasion.

My phone buzzed in the side of my bag. I pulled out the white cased iPhone3GS and typed in my passcode unlock it. 7262.

Brandy McCullough: Dude! Like your new seat??

I rolled my eyes and typed a response to the blonde bimbo.

Gabrielle Muhl: I guess it depends in what way you’re asking me that?

Brandy McCullough: He's totally hot! I think he's got a thing for that British accent of yours ;)

Gabrielle Muhl: Hahaha don't they all...*rolls eyes*...you coming to the party later?
