Chapter 1

AN: THIS IS A YEAR AFTER THE END OF THE BOOK. EVERYTHING IS THE SAME BUT JOHNY DIDN'T DIE, DALLAS PULLED HIM OUT IN TIME. THEREFOR EVERYONE IS STILL ALIVE. THE MAIN CHARACTER IS ALMOST 15. CARISSA IS ALMOST 16. PONY IS 15. SODA AND JOHNNY ARE 16. STEVE, AND DALLY ARE 17. TWO-BIT IS 18. AND DARRY IS 20. OK THANKS. THE PIC IS THE CAT, THE MAIN CHARACTER. XOXO KISSES

"Get your lazy ass off my chair!" I yelled as my brother kept trying to sit with me in one small chair. "Make me Cathleen. Make me" he retorted. He knew I hated being called that, well that and Cathie. My names Cathleen but I go by Cat.

I rolled my eyes and got up. It was the second day of summer and I was already bored out of my mind. "Hey Steve. Let's see the boys." I stated, my brother has this gang of 6 boys that he's always with. I sometimes hang out with them but not very often. It's awkward, ya dig?

"Yeah alright, I'm down." He said lazily. We finally got there. Steve opened the door and I plopped down on a seat.

"Hey guys" everyone said hey, and Steve and Soda started talking about these two chicks they were taking out tonight.

"If your leaving where am I supposed to go?" Our mom died about 4 months ago and ever sense my dad has started beating me, or at least trying. So I don't stay home with out Steve there- unless my father isn't there.

"You'll stay here, Pony'll watch you, huh Pony?" Two-bit smirked. Ever sense I can remember Two-bit has tried to get me and Pony together. I mean I don't really mind, Pony is hot as hell, but he just don't like me that way, oh well.
Pony agreed and we soon all started talking. I stared at Ponyboy. He is just so beautiful. The blond was almost out of his hair and he looked really sexy. I bit my lip. "Hey Cat, you thinking about Pony?" Soda said with a smirk. I realized I'd been sitting there biting my lip looking at Ponyboy. I don't use my head. "Get a life Soda" I said. I wanted to continue my staring at Pony but Soda ruined it. Wow I'm weird.

"Cat. We're leaving."  Soda said pulling me out of my daze. "K see you" I said. "Welup, I'm goin home," Dally said, and soon following was two-bit and Johnny. It was just me, Darry and Pony. It was kinda awkward because me and Pony never really talked, and Darry was asleep.

"So Cat, how are you? How's your Summer?" Pony asked

"Good, boring. My two closest friends are on vacation all Summer so I'm gunna be bored out of my mind for all of it."

"No you won't, we can hang out"

I smiled "okay" we started talking about everything under the sun and it was really fun. We moved the conversation into his room. As we were talking he got up to change into pjs. I watched him take off his shirt and, again bit my lip. He was sooo sexy. "Cat? You've been staring at me, should I just keep my shirt off?" He laughed in a joking manner. "Yes- i mean no- or uh, I don't care" nice job Cat. Want to paint him a sign next time? I thought to my self. He chuckled and put a shirt on. We talked for a little while longer until we heard the door open and Steve and Soda walked in.

"Hey Big Brother, hey Soda" I said smiling. "Hey. I don't feel like going home so we're staying here tonight." Steve said taking his shirt off. I Agreed and asked where I was to sleep. I got the couch and Steve got the floor.

Everyone was about to fall asleep when I walked into Soda and Ponys room. I walked up so Pony, he looked like we was about to fall asleep. "Hey, what's up" he groanded sleepily. It was very attractive. "Oh, I was wondering if I could borrow a shirt and some sweats- please" he got up and handed me the clothes. He was only wearing boxers, and it was quite the sight.

"Uhh thanks" I stampeded. "No problem" he chuckled, crawling back in bed. That night I slept terrible- dreams about my mom all night.

I woke up to Darry shaking me slightly. "Catt wake up, breakfast is ready" I moaned and got off the couch- bringing the blanket with me. We sat down at the table and began to eat. I'm a vegetarian so all I had was pancakes. "How'd you sleep Catt?" Soda asked, breaking the silence. "Uh, okay I guess." Steve looked at me, obviously not buying it. "Bad dreams.?" He almost stated instead of asking. "Yeah..." I said slowly. I don't like talking about my dreams and Steve knows it. Lucky for me he dropped the subject. After breakfast I decided I wanted to go home.

"C'mon Brother."?I urged him. "Lessgo"
"I'm in no hurry whatsoever to leave Cathleen. Stop bothering me." he spat, annoyed. "Don't call me that Steven!" I half shouted. "Sit down and shut up. We ain't leaving yet." I sighed and plopped into the seat next to Pony. I just wanted to go home. The guys were all talking about girls and I sorta dozed off. When I woke up I noticed pony wasn't there anymore. I got up and went into his and Sodapops room to look for him. The guys didn't really notice me leaving"

When I walked in I saw pony in the bed with 2 books in his hands. I sat down next to him. "Whatcha doin ?"
"Tryna decide which book to read."
"Oh- choose that one! I've always wanted to read it. Rumble Fish."
"Okay" he smiled. "How about I read it outloud?"
"Really? That'd be great." I laid down with him and put my head on his lap as he started reading. This was great.
