I got to work and found everyone, including my boss, crowding around the old television.
"Remind me, what are you guys doing there?" I asked while making myself a coffee.
"Well, we're actually watching the cup!" Said one of the seniors.
"Yeh, sorry, why would anyone want to be watching a cup?" I said to them with my left eyebrow piercing upwards.
"No, not a cup silly, The Cup!" Exclaimed who I call Little Miss Know It All. Which is really good because her real name is Kia, so I call her; Lil' Miss Kia. She thinks that I'm being nice to her and she told everyone in the studio to call her what I call her. So pretty much she wants everyone in the studio to call her a... Well let's just say... An interesting name...

"It's Melbourne Cup today Miriam." Said my boss Frank patting me on the back so hard, I spilt coffee down my front.
"Fair enough." I said wiping my shirt down with a cloth Lil' Miss Kia gave me. "Hey, I thought tomorrow was Tues..."
"So. The winner of todays bet gets a real life horse!" Lil' Miss Kia shouted clapping her hands. "My Aunty Marie owns a horse farm and all of her girls just had a pony each!"
I coughed, "It's 'all of her mares just had a foal each' to be exact Lil' Miss Kia!"

"Oh well, none of that matters right now!" She blushed, I could tell that she didn't like being humiliated in front of all the people. "So... Err... The bet's on!" She shouted eventually.
