The crowd was disturbingly silent. Taylor flicks her long, curly, auburn hair out of her sparkling, emerald green eyes. She focuses on the blown out shell of the witchcraft store. Taylor was not superstitious whatsoever but with the huge crowd surrounding the familiar store, she was kind of curious.
There had been a scream last night. People in the area had woken up to it, including Taylor, and rumors began going around almost immediately. Leavenworth was a charming, peaceful town in America and screams were certainly a rare occasion.
Taylor was snapped out of her thoughts as the police exited the building carrying what appeared to be a body, frozen stiff with pure white eyes. Taylor herself froze. Was the person really dead? How? Why? Who did it?
It had to be murder. There was no reason to commit suicide and someone didn't just die in their sleep whilst they were screaming. There had to be a murderer around somewhere. Taylor glanced around quickly, she didn't see anyone suspicious immediately, then turned and ran.
She ran for a while before stopping at the park. Despite it being a sunny Saturday morning there wasn't many people here. Probably because of the incident at the shop. The witchcraft shop. Witchcraft, totally. More like hoaxcraft. That's all witchcraft is. Hoaxes, tricks and illusions. Right?
A young couple walked past, completely absorbed in their conversation, not even noticing Taylor. They were probably Taylor's age, 15, and appeared to be..........holding hands. Yuk!!! Taylor had never had a boyfriend and never intended to. She didn't understand why people had the urge to hug and kiss each other or hold hands.
Pulling Taylor back out of her thoughts was the couple's conversation. It was about demons. Apparently the symptoms that had occurred back at the shop were the same as those of the ancient myth, fóvos daímonas (fear demon translated to Greek). More superstition. Seems like her life was being filled with it. Isn't that just great.
For the record, Taylor also loved sarcasm. She decided to head back to the crime site, pick up some clues then go on with her life. The clues might come in handy but she couldn't let this situation take over her daily activities. Soon, everything would be back to normal. Hopefully..........

Author's Note
Not all of this information is supposed to be correct but the translations should be accurate (hopefully). This is my first story but I have been interested in literature and writing storys for a long time. This is an original story but the fear demon idea came from the Charmed demon of fear Barbas and other aspects will relate to other series which I will mention in the authors note at the end of each chapter. Also this will not have a regular update schedule but I will try to get a part out rather regularly.
