I woke up in a white room on a bed, the mattress covered with a teal plastic. As I sat up the world spinned for a second, then everything came back into focus. I looked around at the things around me, trying to find out where I was. Harry was on the other bed next to me. He was reading some kind of book, but I couldn't tell what. I looked at the wall opposite of me. It had a door with a small window on it. I swung my feet over the bed, and walked over to the window. I stood on tip-toe and peered out the window, and saw Mr. Hodson and Elouise sitting in chairs talking to a few police officers.
"Oh Gwen, you're awake! Your head okay?" I heard Harry say from behind me.
"Uh, yeah. It's fine....what happened?"
"Oy vey....it's a long story. When you hit your head, you totally blacked out. Your aunt was getting really close so used your phone to call the police, and since they took forever," he rolled his eyes in annoyance. "I decided to go to the tree house, because I thought she didn't know about it, and thank god I was right."
"You carried me all the way to the tree house?"
"Well yeah! But I mean she would have killed you or something!" he said, blushing slightly. I smiled as a police officer came into the room.
"We searched through your parents file, miss. Apparently your name is Rapunzel Snow Fisher. Your Aunt changed it once she took you." I nodded.
The rest of the day went on quickly. There was a lot of questions they asked me and Harry about what happened, but unfortunately I couldn't answer all of them. The hit to my head made me forget some of the details, but I still remembered one thing. My Aunt killed my parents, and I was going to make sure she got what she deserved. Mr. Hodson gave me a ride back home, and made sure that the staff was to keep an eye on my head injury.
Aunt Mary was put in prison, and I was left alone in the manor. The house staff took good care of me while I was living there. Harry and Elouise came to visit me often, which was very kind of them, seeing as how I almost got Harry killed. I could rest easy now that I knew what happened to my parents, and that Aunt Mary had gotten what she deserved, and that's all I needed.
That's my fairy tale. It wasn't big, or fancy. No love at first sight, no wicked witch. It all started Once Upon A Haircut.
