"Adaline! What are we going to do? Your father was the one that knew about guns and that stuff!" My mom shrieked.
"Stop. Dad taught me how to shoot and fight. Packing some food and blankets. I'll get us some weapons and close then will leave. The city isn't safe." I said, and with that, I ran up the stairs to my dads old office. I unlocked the safe, I pulled out the rifle that he taught me on. Also I grabbed a shotgun, 2 Berettas and just a few various handguns. I grabbed my camping bag, put the guns in it, and picked up 2 knives sliding them into my pant loops.
Next I walked into my bedroom throwing, a few shirts in the bag and some jeans, and a pair of shorts. I then, walked down my stairs.
"Mom, are you ready-" I stopped dead in my tracks, my face dropped. My mom, was hanging from the chandelier. A note under here on the coffee table.
"Baby, I'm so sorry. I couldn't survive in this world. I would have just slowed you down. I love you Adaline. You can survive. Xoxo"
Tears slowly rolled down my cheeks, but I quickly wiped them away. I walked into the kitchen, packing some energy bars. I wrapped my hand around the knife in my right side pants loop, and wrapped my other hand around the door handle. Twisting, I slowly opened the door and shut it behind me. I walked down the driveway and I didn't even get a foor away from my house before I heard a noise.
"Pssst," I heard from a bush. I turned, my knife in hand. "Adaline."
"Harley?" I said, and she stood up, running up and hugging me. I hugged her back, "What the hell is going on?"
"Some damn lab let out a virus." She said, pulling me along.
"What are we going to do?" I asked, confused.
"Remember my summer home in Mallsbury, my parents brought us to when we were 6?" She asked.
"Yes. Why?"
"We could collect some supplies and head out there, its only 2 hours out." She said, as we walked down the street.
"That sounds better than staying in the city."
"Okay, lets go to Sherman's Pharmacy." she said as we started to slowly jog down the surprisingly quiet street.

We walked in, I had my Beretta out and my other hand on one of the knives. Harley had a baseball bat. Slowly I pulled open the broken automatic door, Harley stepping in before me. I followed her in and she said, "Hey, I'll check the left side of the store. You get the right side. Pick up anything you want or we need. Call for me if you need me." I nodded and rounded the end of the isle. I heard a groaning, and then my eyes connected with the teenage girl, in a employees outfit wandering clueless around the store. I made a clicking noise with my mouth. She snapped her head around and started dragging her self towards me. I lifted up my Beretta and aimed it for her head. My hands were shaking uncontrollably, if I pull the trigger. I am ending a human life. But these things aren't human... And with that thought crossing my mind, I pulled the trigger. She plopped to the ground. Lifeless.
"ARE YOU OKAY ADALINE!" I heard Harley yell from the other side.
"Yeah, just found a infected." I answered, walking forward I saw a door, labeled EMPLOYEES ONLY. Maybe there is keys in their for one of the cars outside. I ran up to it, turning the handle, it wouldn't budge. I placed my shoulder on the door and pushed. It loosened but didn't open. I repeated the action and it flew open. My eyes widened at the sight I saw.
"Hello."
