Chapter three- A love interest or just a cuddle buddy?

About a month after her night out with her friends Lydia decided to try online dating again. Even though she was enjoying the single life Lydia missed flirting and general conversations with strangers.  She decided to be pickier with the guys she matched with, however they all wanted one thing from here and that wasn't her style. One evening while surfing the internet listening to music Lydia's face book messenger popped up with a message from a guy called Rhys. Rhys was a lovely guy she had been talking to before she got into a relationship with Barry.  They lost contact until now and she was intrigued why he was messaging her.  "Hey Lydia how are you?" Rhys asked her.

"Hello Rhys I'm well how are you? It's been a while since we last talked." Lydia replied with a slight smile on her face she had forgotten how cute he was. He was from maesteg which was quite far away as she is still learning to drive even though it's been a while since she's actually had a lesson. They started to catch up a bit and really got to know each other in such a short space of time. They started talking at any opportunity they had then one day Rhys asked Lydia "As we have been speaking for a while now would you like my phone number?" It took Lydia a while to answer as she just wasn't sure yes they were getting on really well but on the other hand she didn't know what to do as she had just gotten out of a relationship and promised herself some time to be on her own and find herself. She had no idea who she actually was as her identity was always being someone's girlfriend this had been that way since she was 15.

Eventually she took his number and they stared texting. This went on for about 2 months and then she realised that Barry had given her a concert ticket to see her favourite band Bullet For My Valentine and she had no one to go with. After a few days of texting Lydia messaged Rhys to see if he was going to the concert too since he liked the band and it just so happened he had a ticket and was going to attend with a friend. He then asked her if she wanted to meet him there so she wasn't alone and she accepted. "It's not technically a date, just meeting a friend she kept thinking to herself." When the day arrived she made sure her hair was as perfect as it could be and her make up was pristine. She was secretly hoping to meet the lead singer, when he saw her he would fall in love with her and they would get married and live happily ever after but she knew it wouldn't happen. "Hey a girl can dream." She thought to herself. Rhys then texted her saying "Hey can't wait to see you should be finishing university soon I will let you know when I am in Swansea." 

"Cool I will meet you wherever you park!" she replied back with as she left the house she heard there was a meet and greet from her friend lee as her boyfriend was working it as security. As Lydia waited in the queue she couldn't help feel that someone was watching her and it made her feel uneasy. she left the queue and went to get coffee to calm her nerves. Lydia sat in the Costa Coffee shop she loved so much got her usual mocha latte and sat alone waiting for Rhys to text her, the uneasy feeling still hadn't shifted so she sipped her coffee and listened to music to prepare herself for a mental yet enjoyable evening.

meanwhile in the shadows the spirit of Aengus was watching Lydia's every movement. He had watched her since she was born and he sensed something as different with this descendent. He sensed the curse changing with young Lydia as she was so much like his beloved maebh. He could still feel his Maebh around her longing for her one true love Alaster. Aenegus transports himself to where Rhys was, he noticed he was in a different place. He found himself in a university, he could feel the lust Rhys had for Lydia strongly around him. Aengus focused his energy on finding the source and came across Rhys. He was the perfect type for Lydia they were the same height, a fan of silly tshirts with music groups on, wearing jeans and a pair of converse. He was dressed just like Lydia even they're glasses had similarities. The presence of heartbreak reeked on Rhys' soul. His devious mind started to work on how he could use this young lad against Lydia and finally break her to never find love again.

"Dude I'm starting to get nervous, what if she doesn't like me" Rhys turned to his best mate Alex with the concern in his eyes. "everything will be fine Rhys don't panic from what you have told me she is nothing like your last one." replied Alex soothing his friend. Just like Lydia Rhys didn't have much with relationships. Lydia was the only girl he had felt something special for in a long time which made him nervous about meeting her. After a while Rhys breathed and plucked his courage back up as he got into Alex's car ready to drive to Swansea, where the possible love of his life was waiting for him.

When they arrived Lydia was waiting for them her now dyed Bright pink glistened in the autumn sunshine, Rhys couldn't take his eyes off her she was more beautiful than the photos she had sent him. When Lydia saw Rhys she liked what she saw. Her mind ran wild on their life together in a matter of seconds a usual occurrence when it came to her relationships. When Rhys finally got out the car she did shout at him for not answering her in her texts and 25 missed calls as she knew the line to the concert was going to be huge by the time they got there, however she wasn't mad at him for long she couldn't and she had no idea why.

When they go to the concert hall Lydia, Rhys and Alex waited in the queue and they were joined by Rhys and Alex's friend Dani who Lydia got on with straight away. As everyone filed into the hall and they found a spot to stand in, the first band started and Lydia noticed that Rhys was edging towards the side so she followed him. "Rhys is everything alright?" Lydia asked with care and concern sliding her hand into his. His hand was warm which made her smile. Rhys turned to her, he looked her into her eyes mesmerised by their beauty while he lifts his hand to her rosy cheek. Before they knew it he kissed her the passion between was electric. Aengus was smiling watching the couple. As he flew away he whispered "This will finally put everything back into play." Meanwhile back on earth Lydia smiled while the pair kissed she had never been happier.
