(Castiel's POV)
My last week here on my diplomatic tour. I must say I didn't have much fun. You don't get to truly be yourself when you're to busy trying to act perfect and make other countries play nice with your country.
I rule over the country of Heavens. It is about 1/4 the size of the United States. Compared to the six billion that live in the US, we only have about two billion. That is still quite a lot.
I am thirty two years old, and I have been the king of Heavens for ten years now. My father died when I was twenty two, and being the eldest child I ascended the throne.
I have one brother, Gabriel, who is quite the trouble maker. We have to work hard to avoid scandal being of our status. It makes it hard to do that when you have rival countries threatening to overthrow you and take over.
Heavens is a very wealthy country, we have many things about the land that make us plenty of money. My father and I have also tried to treat the citizens of Heavens the best we can. In our country the monarchs have absolute power, but we do have a parliament that is set up in case one of us feels the need to overuse the power we have been given.
Our rival country, which is trying to start war or overthrow me, is Hells. The leader of Hells is a very powerful dictator named Crowley. He is quite envious of Heavens and wants to take the throne and become king himself. He is an extremely dangerous man, who has been trying to find bad information on us for about five years.
I manage to avoid it mostly, he starts rumors but I put an end to them. Half the stuff he says Gabriel does is true though. Gabe is twenty six and feels the need to party every night and pretty much be your typical stereotype prince. He is a good person however, and he does attend to his duties, no matter how much glitter he comes home covered in.
I'm currently walking to the nearest bar. My diplomatic tour is over, I have met with the president and all handled foreign affairs. I think it's time for my vacation. After every tour to another country, I stay an extra week and pay my security detail to leave me alone. I go undercover, you could say, so people won't recognize me.
I spend my weeks in a hotel, in bars, clubs, sightseeing, pretty much anything I wouldn't do at home. I have a hotel booked already and I'm still wearing my suit with a blue tie, and a trench coat. I still have that 'I'm so rich and fabulous' look to me, but the rest of the week I can dress as casual as I want. First stop, the bar closest to the hotel.
I walk in to the bar, which is rather small but still quite nice. Not many people are there at the moment but I'm sure it will get busier in the later hours. I sit at the bar and wait for the bartender to turn around.
The man is dressed in jeans, boots, a tshirt with a flannel shirt over that. He had light, freckled skin. They were mostly spread out across his nose and cheeks. He had emerald green eyes. So green, dark and light at the same time. He wasn't skinny by no means. He was lean and had a lot of muscle. He was beautiful.
"What can I getcha' ?" He asked he had a Midwest sort of American accent. "Your best beer, please." I responded, trying my best not to stare. "Coming right up!" He replies with enthusiasm.
He comes back quickly, and he hands me the beer. He stands there for a second and stares before he speaks up. "So, are you um... from out of town? We mostly get regulars here, and you don't look familiar.". For a moment I thought he recognized me but he didn't. "I'm from another country, I'm just here visiting the US on...um...vacation."
"Vacation? No offense but why would you come to a small place like this for vacation. I mean you seem like the rich type." He moves to lean down on the bar, I guess this means he wants to chat. Great. Really, just great. "I do have money, if that's what you're asking. I came here for vacation because I like my privacy away from things."
