"That guild has done it again." Jude Heartfilia groaned. He set the paper on top of his desk, soon taken by his young daughter, a blond girl named Lucy. Layla, Jude's wife and mother of Lucy, watched the child's smile grow as she acted as if she were reading the paper.
"It can't be that bad," Layla said, in a failed attempt to comfort her husband. Jude looked at her, was she serious?
"They destroyed a dark guild along with the Council Library," He informed her. Layla's eyes widened in shock. The newest members were full of energy at that guild, especially the children.
"Fairy Tail's so cool!" Lucy exclaimed. Starring at a picture of a red haired girl who was standing on top of the debris, ordering people around. Jude took the paper from her hands and tore it up. He didn't like the idea of Fairy Tail influencing his daughter - he didn't like the idea of peasants influencing his daughter.
"You shouldn't get mixed up with those Fairy Tail mages, their trouble. . . Shouldn't you be going to bed?" Jude asked, glancing at the clock. Lucy nodded solemnly and walked to her room. Layla gave her husband a harsh look before following her daughter. Jude mocked his wife's look as he pulled out a file on the guid.
The Heartfilia's were royalty. In fact, the highest ranking nobles in Fiore. Jude was the king by birthright, Layla had been married into the world of dancing and riches. Lucy didn't quite care for dresses and jewels, preferring to dance in mud puddles and dressing in cotton tee shirts.
With the stress Fairy Tail was causing the king, he couldn't promise a bright future for the guild. They had been causing trouble for decades. Ever since the current guild master passed the age of 70, everyone had been waiting for someone else to take his place. But he wouldn't step down, and the guild had only gotten worse. Mainly because it turned into an orphanage for magical children.

A young boy ran into the back courtyard of the castle later that night. His cloak was flying behind him, his hood had fallen off, exposing two small horns and pink hair on top of his head. He ran through a garden filled with lilies and tulips as two police men had chased him out of town and he had some how ended up here.
"Hey, kid,get over here!" They demanded. A fence was blocking their way of entry. Giving the pink haired boy a chance of freedom. He slid through the bars with ease and laughed as the guards behind him were stuck. He continued to chuckle and walked over to a path way, lit by small lanterns.
He looked down at his feet, one of his shoes was gone and the other was about to fall off his foot. Flimsy things, they were about half as old as he was and not made in the best way in the first place. Mirajane, one of the older girls at Fairy Tail, had sewn the shoes out of an old leather bag.
The boy scratched his head. He looked up at the sky. It was too late to try to go back to the guild, Fairy Tail. He needed to find a place to spend the night. He turned to the castle and noticed all the lights were off, except for one room.
From where he stood, he had a good view of the fourth story room. It was big, with a book shelf and what appeared to be a canopy bed. He quietly ran to the wall and started climbing.

Lucy couldn't sleep, she decided to clean her room a little. So Spetto-san would have less to worry about, but really because chores usually bored her and she thought it would help her fall asleep. She sat on her bed and looked around. There was nothing to clean. The only area that was in a disarray was her bed, with the sheets slightly wrinkled. She turned on her lamp next to her bed and grabbed a book from her shelf, before crawling back under her comforter.
After a few minutes, she heard a knock on her balcony door. She sat up and looked through the glass of the door. There stood a pink haired boy with two small, brown horns on his head. He wore a dark red cloak and a white scarf. He had big onyx eyes and a toothy grin, one of his front teeth was missing. Lucy opened the door.
"Can I help you?" She asked. The boy stared at the girl. She had light blonde hair and big brown eyes. She was a few inches shorter than him and wore a light blue nightgown. He recognized her somehow, but he couldn't place her face.
"Can I help you?" She asked. She was anxious to kick him out. She had heard children sing, "stranger danger," and assumed that this was stranger dangers. The boy nodded.
"I was chased out of town. By these big, fat guys in black uniforms. It's too late for me to go back home and I need a place to stay for the night. Could I stay here?" He asked. The girl stared at him. She wanted him to leave. Her dad was still awake. If he found a peasant in her room, she'd be grounded and who knew what would happen to him? She ran to her bedroom door and locked it, then she ran back to him and pulled him inside. She pointed to the bed.
"Stay here. I'll go get you some clothes and get a bath started. I can't let my dad know that you're here." The boy nodded. The girl left and quietly closed the door. Just as her father was passing by.
"What are you doing up?" He asked her. She could hardly see his eyes beyond his blond mustache.
"Uh. . . I was thirsty. I was going to go to the bathroom and get some water," she mumbled. She hoped he would believe her.
"Don't stay up too late, you have classes tomorrow."
"Yes, sir." He walked away without saying good night. It didn't bother Lucy, she didn't know that was what parents usually did.
