Plans for Natsu's execution had been canceled. Many soldiers had caught a glimpse of the murderer and all came to the conclusion it wasn't him. Some saw light purple hair rather than pink. Others noticed the figure had more of a feminine physique. Natsu wasn't killed or held in trial, none of the Fairy Tail mages were. Instead they were all sent to prison, a similar punishment to other mages who fought against the royal army.
It had been week after the battle, according to Mira's wall where she had been marking off the days they were imprisoned. Other than who stabbed with guard, the buzz was Lucy's coronation. After she was found unconscious in her apartment, she was taken back to the castle where she has been recovering from the past events.
The morning of her coronation, was fairly usual in the prison. Natsu had somehow found himself in a fight with a rebel and an ex-Mage of a lesser known guild that the king had shut down months prior. Other members of Fairy Tail were watching out of the corners of their eyes as they ate cold plates of eggs and oatmeal.
It wasn't until nine thirty that the prison guards had rounded everyone up and announced that they would be able to watch the coronation. Most of the prisoners chose to watch because their other option was to break apart coal and chop wood. The majority of the prisoners were rounded up in the courtyard, arguing with each other.
Most of the prisoners, surprisingly, weren't criminals. Most were mages of various guilds that had been shut down. It shouldn't have been a problem, but the mages who raised a hand against the king's forces were more often than not sent to jail for, "harassing the government law." Many mages were reacquainted with other guild members. One guild in particular, Blue Pegasus, was happy to see the Fairy Tail guild. Especially one mage who made everyone pretty uncomfortable.
"What a beautiful parfume I smell!" Ichiya had said the night Fairy Tail was brought to prison. Thankfully, a guard told him to shut his trap before he were after him. Now, everyone was watching a white tarp with a coronation playing across it.

Lucy had woken up that morning with fear running thrower veins. It was the day she would be crowned queen and a previous nightmare had planted itself into her memory. She awoke surrounded by white fabric and fluffy fabrics. The sun was brightly shining through her large window, lighting up the large, lightly colored room.
"Lucy, wake up! It's coronation day!!" A maid stepped into her bedroom holding boxes in her strong arms. Lucy groaned and propped herself up on her elbows. The maid hung her dress up next to the window so Lucy could get a full view of it. Which she made sure to do when the maid set out pairs of shoes and laid out her tiara at the foot of her bed.
The dress was long sleeved and ivory colored with silver details along the bust and hem of the skirt. The neck line was in a 'v' shape and stopped just at the crevice of her bosom. The maid slipped her into the dress as soon as she got the corset to fit. She then slipped into a pair of silver heels and had her hair brushed in a low, elegant bun. A cape was fastened onto the dress just as a tiara was placed at the top of her head.
"I feel like something's missing," the maid stated. At this point, four other maids had joined her and they nodded in agreement. Then it clicked, "We forgot your makeup!" Two maids quickly went to work on applying the various powders and liquids to Lucy's face. It was thirty minutes until the official coronation when they finished. They let her look at herself in the mirror for a moment. She told them they did an excellent job when she really looked the same, just formal.
They quickly led her to the cathedral where the ceremony would take place. She stood behind closed doors, breathing heavily as the guests became settled in the pews. Before she knew it, music was playing and she was walking down the aisle. People watched her as she occasionally stepped on her skirt and twitched an eye or mumbled something to herself. It felt like hours when she finally reached the priest. When she did, she kneeled down onto her knee and he raised his arms in the air.
He spoke about how he watched her grow over the past seventeen years and was pleased to be part of her coronation, just like her mother. He then began with the tradition of "cleaning" her tiara in preparation for the next princess. He spoke to the gods and her ancestors to grant her a peaceful reign as queen of Fiore. He then asked the guests if they would protect their queen if it was ever needed and responded with a loud, "yes." He grabbed the queen's crown and carefully placed it on top of Lucy's head. He helped her to a standing position and shouted, "Now, a proper welcome, to Queen Lucy Heartfilia!" The crowd erupted with cheers and greetings and Lucy stood still.
She turned her attention towards a camera that was on an opposite side of the room. Not knowing who was watching from the other side. Natsu watched as he picked up on a small tear falling down her cheek. She had no idea what was going to happen or what was already happening. All she knew was her guild was gone and all she could do was stare at her guild mark and hope they were safe. She may have been a princess, but in Fiore, a queen wasn't much of a step up. She had very little power, she was basically a servant with money and a comfortable bed. She couldn't release the mages or change government law. She was supposed to take care of her husband and children and teach the, proper edict.
Natsu didn't know this. He thought she had all the power in the world and was doing nothing with it. After the coronation, everything went back to normal in the prison. But Natsu had an idea. If they wouldn't be released peacefully, they would by force. He talked secretly with other prisoners and they came up with a plan. When the time was right, they would escape and fight whoever stood in their way. This would end up causing the next meeting with Lucy and potentially ruin what was. But it would be a year before the escape and someone would help keep them together.

Author's note;
I finally updated! I feel like it's been so long and it probably has been. So, the next chapter will take place a year into the future. It'll be the start of the mages escape and we will meet the person who will bring the two together. Warning, I'm really nervous about how you will react to who it is. I know some of you will be like Yes! and some will be like Why did you do that? But I think it adds a little drama and I'm a sucker for drama. Especially school drama.
I just published a new story called Fire In The Twilight and I would really appreciate it if you read it and gave me ideas for the story. It was inspired by a fanfic for The Breakfast Club about John and Claire and I loved it so much it inspired me to write the story. The link to the original fanfic is on my profile if you are interested in reading it. I'll be working on that along with this story so updates may be later than any of us hoped.
Until I write again,
~Lucy (lucythegirl)
