"Now Sophia, have you got everything ready for your first day at school?" Elizabeth called from the main bedroom of the house as she adjusted her hair to perfection.
"For the last time, yes I have everything," Sophia replied, standing in the doorway of her mother's bedroom.
"Good, now, Edward will be there to pick you up at half three. Make sure you're there because you know how much studying your brother must do when he gets home."
"Yes, yes, I know all that. Can I go now, please?" Sophia groaned, pulling her designer handbag's strap back onto her shoulder
"Alright, alright, you can go" Sophia lolled her head forward before turning on her heel. "Ahh! Where's my kiss?"
Rolling her eyes, Sophia turned back to her mother, kissing her on the cheek
"Thank you!" Elizabeth chimed, looking back at her face in the mirror to finish her make up.
"Goodbye mother!" Sophia bellowed up the stairs
"Good-" but Sophia had already slammed the door before her mum had the chance to finish.

Sophia silently walked into school, her head down, hair disguising her face, headphones in as she shuffled inside with the rest of the students.
This was the bit she hated the most; the stares. Whenever she went to a new school, there was always that one person asking why she was always so awkward when starting again in a new place.
But no one likes the stares. And she always got plenty of those.
Sophia was brought back to reality by the feel of a presence beside her. She stole a glance to her right, seeing a chirpy girl smiling at back at her.
She could sense this nameless girl wanted to talk so she removed her headphones, waiting for the usual round of questions.
"Is this your first day here?"
"Yeah, my family and I moved to Ireland from Wales for my dad's job"
"Oh nice, I thought I recognized the accent. I moved here a couple years ago; I can show you round if you want?" Sophia turned to face the nameless girl.
"Yeah, I'd like that. But first you're going to have to tell me your name"
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I'm Hayley Peters" Hayley stuck her hand out for Sophia to shake.
"Sophia Grayson" she said, slipping her hand into Hayley's.
"Nice to meet you Sophia Grayson. Do you have your schedule?"
Sophia nodded, handing over the sheet
"Oh, we have history and music together"
Sophia smiled. "At least I'll know someone in my class"
"Come on, I'll show you to history"
Hayley lead the way to history, just talking about what her life was like before she moved to Ireland, what her parents were like and how she was expected to marry someone rich.
"Do you not get a say in who you marry then?"
"No. It's whoever they see fit for me to marry. Sometimes I just want to get a say in things-"
"Scuse me ladies" a tall blond boy with striking blue eyes barged between them, body covered in tattoos and piercings
"Alright, Hayley?" The blond boy questioned, never losing eye contact with Sophia
"Yeah; this is Sophia by the way, she's just moved here from Wales"
"Nice to meet you Soph. I'm Niall" his sweet voice filled her ears, making her weak at the knees.
"N-nice to m-meet you t-too" Sophia stuttered out. Fuck. Of all the times to stutter, now was not the time.
"You two have chemistry together" Hayley smirked, eyes scanning the class as they held their eye contact still
"Looks like we'll be seeing a lot each other then" Niall smirked down at Sophia. In the whole 10 years her family had been moving around, this was the first time Sophia had struggled to talk to someone new
"Guess I'll see you in Geography then Hayley" Niall spoke, finally turning his attention away from a now very red Sophia, flashing Hayley a grin before turning back to Sophia.
"And you last lesson, Soph" he whispered seductively in her ear before walking away to his seat in the back of the room where the rest of his friends were.
Sophia let out a long breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding till now.
"He likes you, you know" Hayley whispered in her ear before sauntering over to the only 2 seats still available as everyone else was already seated, waiting for the teacher to arrive.
"How do you know?" Sophia asked, stealing a few glances behind her as she watched Niall role up a new cigarette, and placing it in the hole of his stretcher to keep it safe
"Because he doesn't look at anyone the way he looks at you. It's like a mixture of 'I want to be with you' and 'I want to fuck your brains out' is seeping out of his pours" Hayley giggled as she fiddled with her hair in her little compact mirror
"I guess" Sophia spoke absentmindedly as she continued to stare at Niall, waiting for him to look up and catch her at any moment.
"Soph," Hayley's voice snapped her back to reality as she turned away from Niall's piecing blue eyes to look at her new friend
"Mmm?"
"Stay away from him; he's bad for you"
"Maybe" Sophia turned away, looking back over at the tattoo and piercing covered boy, who was still staring, an obvious smirk pulling at the corners of his lips. "Maybe not"
