"I'll see you when you get back, onii-chan!" Wendy waves to me, standing in the doorframe looking tinier than ever next to our aunt. I sling the duffle over my shoulder and give a smile and wave back. We've already said proper goodbyes, but it's kinda cute that she's prolonging our goodbye.
"I'll bring you something back, Wendy-chan! You too, aunt Porlyusica!" I rarely address Wendy with the 'chan' suffix, but it had the effect I hoped it would. Her smile gets brighter and brighter until she suddenly turns away and disappears into the house. Hmm, maybe it was too much. Our aunt hobbles down the steps with the speed of someone half her age just to thump me on the shoulder.
"No funny business!" She croaks, stern as ever.
I groan at my aunt's implications, but don't promise anything. Erza honks from inside the black van she borrowed from Jellal. She's dropping us off at the dock, where she'll say goodbye. It's a shame Erza can't join us for Spring Break, but she'll be with Jellal.
Another honk startles me into a jog towards the vehicle. I pop the trunk and toss my duffle in with the other suitcases. Gray is sitting shotgun, while Cana and Juvia are in the very back. I take one of the two seats in the middle and buckle up.
"We're picking up Levy and Gajeel next. Mira and Laxus are meeting us there, and of course Lucy will be waiting." Erza catches me up on the plan, and I feel myself start to get pumped up. My heart starts racing with excited anticipation.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Gray exclaims, probably as psyched as I am. Erza steps on the gas, and we pull out. I resist the small urge to look back at my house, growing smaller in the distance. After some driving, we pull up to Gajeel's apartment, where he and Levy are waiting outside. I've never been inside Gajeel's apartment, but it's his personal space. He always has his dorm back at Fairy Tail anyways.
Levy climbs into the back with the other girls, while Gajeel puts their things in the trunk. Sliding into the seat next to me, he greets me with a fist bump, and Gray a high five.
"This is going to be epic," Gajeel says, with a genuine smile on his face. The rest of the ride is spent listening to music from Gray's phone, and hearing the occasional giggle from the girls behind me. At many points, part of me wanted to turn around and ask 'what's so funny?' but I never did.

The smell of saltwater hits me as it blows through the open window long before I can see the harbor. The road becomes one lane, and large ships bob up and down in the waves. Erza starts to slow down in front of an empty spot along the dock.
"What gives?" I ask, sitting up straighter and looking at the bright horizon.
"This is where she said to meet her," Erza mutters thoughtfully. I scratch my head, before taking off my seatbelt and stepping out of the car.
"Where are you going?" Gajeel asks. I hold a hand up, and walk towards the dock. There are a lot of boats that seem to have docked out near some buoys, but looking closer I can see that one of them isn't docked. It's moving closer to the port! I hold one hand up, smiling uncontrollably. The large motor boat becomes more clear against the bright sky, and I can just make out a silhouette standing at the bow.
"Is that Lucy?" Cana asks, next to me. I didn't notice the rest get out of the car, but here they are, lined up by my side as we watch Lucy bring in a boat. When she's close enough to see our faces, she waves.
"Hi guys! Check it out, it's the Zodiac's Eleventh, the boat we're taking to the island!" Some of her words are lost in the loud wind that wraps around us, but as the boat nears I can make out the cursive paint on the side. It reads: Zodiac's Eleventh, the name of the boat. Lucy grins, her hair wild from the salty wind. She walks around the deck of the boat to where the crew is placing some kind of ramp, having already secured the boat. She runs off the boat, despite the warnings from the crew, and gives us each a big hug.
When she gets to me, I breathe in the salty, ocean smell that made its way into Lucy's hair, completely masking her normally flowery scent. She makes her way down the line of friends, until she finally reaches Erza, and starts talking to her. Lucy, Erza, Gray and Gajeel all turn and make their way back to the car to get our things. I walk halfway after them, and just take the things Gajeel hands to me. I pass them off to Cana, Juvia, and Levy, who in turn hand it over to the crew. After all our things are on the boat, we gather around Erza, next to the car.
"We'll miss you," Lucy starts off. Erza immediately puts her hands up to stop Lucy.
"Don't get all sentimental and sad here. I want you guys to have a good time. Get excited! I'll see you all when you get back, and I'm sure you'll have plenty of stories to tell." She finishes with a small smile. That's just how strong Erza really is, thinking about us first.
"You have fun here, Erza. Bye," I step up and give her a big hug. When I pull away, I hear a loud shouting.
"NOBODY MOVE A MUSCLE!!!" Turning around we all know what she-devil will be there. Mira and Laxus are running up towards us, arms and bags flailing behind. "DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT US!" Mira shouts again.
"Wouldn't dream of it," Lucy says with a smile. Mira and Laxus reach the group, and immediately hunch over, out of breath. Erza looks around at everyone again.
"Well, like I said. Let's not make this goodbye too upsetting for anyone. I'll see you guys when you get back." Everyone hugs Erza individually, and then she turns around, gets in the van, and drives away.
Mira and Laxus get their things onto the boat, and I can feel myself literally jumping in excitement. Lucy stands on the boat, motioning us inside.
"Welcome! Welcome, to Zodiac's Eleventh. Please be safe, abide all the rules, and have fun on your ride to the Heartfilia Resort!" Lucy says as if she was a flight attendant.
I take shaky steps onto the boat, and take a seat on one of the cushions on the bow. I can already feel the waves rocking us back and forth. Once everyone is seated, the captain comes out and tells us how to behave. Psh, as if I don't know how to behave...
Lucy takes a seat next to me, and I immediately feel myself relax more. I'm on a boat with Luce, about to have an amazing vacation. So why do I feel nervous all of the sudden?
