Chapter 3

After Ezra and I made it to my house, my sister was waiting outside of the house for me with an annoyed expression on her face.

“Oh my god, Quinn I completely forgot I had to pick you up today”

“I had to walk all the way home by myself with the chance of being kidnapped, because you went on a joy ride with some boy”

“I’m so sorry, I promise I won’t forget about you ever again” I said running up to my sister and forcibly hugging her.

I waved at Ezra before he pulled off, speeding down my street on his motorcycle.

“Ehh you could do better, just saying” Quinn said shrugging her shoulders.

“How”?

“He seems weird and looks like he’s into bad things”

“What do you mean bad things”?

“Just bad things Ellie and whatever happened to that boy Colin, I liked him?”

“You can’t judge a book by its cover and never mind Colin; he’s a part of the past ok”?

“Ok” Quinn said with a confused look on her face.

“Are you hungry Quinn”? I said unlocking the door to see my mom on the couch with an unamused facial expression.

“So I just got a call from your favorite teacher Ms.Maher saying that you skipped her class today, care to explain why”

“Uhhh I didn’t feel well”

“So you didn’t go to the nurse. El what did I tell you about making the right decision”

“To make them” I said looking at the ground because I couldn’t believe I skipped school over Ezra. It was just something about him that made me want to be near him all the time. I couldn’t help myself but walk out of the school with him today and I don’t regret that I did.

“Ellie, you’re grounded. Now just get out of my face” my mom said before I went upstairs to my room and shut the door. I went to go on my laptop when I heard a knock on my door.

“Its Quinn, can I come in”

“Sure”

“Can I ask you something El?”

“I figured you were here for a reason”

“Seriously El” she said with a mature tone.

“Go ahead Quinn” I said closing the lid on my laptop.

“I’ve been noticing that you’ve been acting weird these past months. You barely talk to mom and I, all you do is stay up here and go on your computer. I miss our friendship El, I miss my sister. What happened to you?” my sister said tears coming down her face. I signaled her towards me so I could give her a hug. Quinn was right I had forgotten about the two most important people to me because of him. I was so in love with him that I let him ruin me.

Quinn lifted up her head from our embrace and said “I just hope that boy on the motorcycle does some good for you El”

“I thought he seemed like he’s into bad things”

“He does but you told me not to judge a book by its cover” she said with a smirk.

“Whatever Quinn, I love you but get out”

“Aww I love you too Ellie” she said giving me a kiss on the cheek then going into her room. That night I didn’t eat dinner, I wasn’t hungry. I just couldn’t stop thinking about Ezra and I kinda liked that I couldn’t.

The next morning I woke up with a smile on my face because I knew I would see Ezra today. I put on a grey crop top and dark ripped skinny jeans with my grey converses. I decided to leave my hair down and natural. I got my book bag and looked in the mirror to make sure I looked ok. I went downstairs and left for the bus. The ride to school I couldn’t help but think about Ezra, I mean until I got interrupted by bitchass Colin.

“Hey you look nice today” he said as he sat down next to me.

“Umm… thanks Colin” I said rolling my eyes because who does he think he is just sitting next to me after avoiding me, that’s not cute at all.

“Is there something that you want? You finally decide to stop avoiding me.”

“Damn why you gotta be so defensive towards me El?” He said caressing my cheek. I pushed him away and faced the window.

“I’m sorry El, I just wanted to invite you to a party I’m having Saturday” he said pulling a invitation out his bag and forcibly handing it to me.

“Will you please come El? Pleaaaaaaaaassssssseeeee!”

“I’ll think about it Colin, ok”

“Okay, I hope to see you there El” he said with a wink then walking off of the bus. After I got off the bus I went to go sit on the bench to wait for Ezra to pull up. When I got to the bench he was just sitting there on his phone. I walked up to him and stood in front of him to get his attention.

“Hey there beautiful” he said looking up at me.

“You don’t look so bad yourself” I said with a smirk.

“Aww thanks” he said getting up from the bench and intertwining his fingers with mine.

“Did you get in trouble because of me yesterday?”

“Yea, Ms. Maher called my mom saying that I skipped her class yesterday. I don’t regret it though.”

“Oh really, why do you say that?”

“Because I got to spend time with you” I said smiling and kissing him on the cheek.

“I liked spending time with you too Ellie” he said kissing me on the lips. During our kiss I heard the first bell ring.

“I have to get to class; I’ll see you in Spanish later”

“Bye Ellie” he said giving me a quick peck on the lips then heading the other way to his class.
