Its been a year since James found me in that state I was in, I'm better now thanks to him. "Dear!" I hear him shout. "Yes darling." I say walking over to him. "You look fantastic, be sure to be ready soon the party starts in twenty minutes." James has been talking about this party for weeks now. It is the reopening of the hotel since we've had the elevator installed, there is going to be a lot of important people there as this is the only hotein the city to have a working elevator.
"I'm almost ready,would you mind zipping my dress for me." I ask "of course I'll zip it." He says before kissing my cheek, before he walks away I tightly grasp his hand and turn him around to face me. "good luck darling." I say to him before kissing his lips. "Shall we?" James says holding out a hand "we shall." I say as I take his hand.
As we walk downstairs to the main lobby James spots a group full of elegantly dressed people holding filled champagne glasses and immediately rushes both of us over to talk to them. "Hello!" James calls to them "greetings" says a plump man with a top hat. "Wow James, you have really outdone yourself." Adds a woman with very curly hair. "Oh Nancy your always complimenting me" James replies. "And who is this young woman." Another man with glasses says "another one of your 'victims' I presume." The group laughs and I look over to James and see that he isn't amused, he clears his throat and they all stop immediately. "ACTUALLY! This is my partner, her name is Rachel." James says angrily. "Oh I'm sure she'll last a few more we-" *BONG.......BONG..........BONG*
The man with glasses was interrupted by the sound of the clock striking midnight. James picks up a knife and clinking it against the glass. "Ladies and gentleman" he begins "I welcome you to the Hotel Cortez on its second opening night and I am very proud to say that the Cortez will be open for years to come with no extreme renovations and I am also proud to say that there will be another owner alongside myself and I'm hoping she will agree to be my wife." He says pulling a ring from his pocket and getting down on one knee "my darling Rachel" he says "will you do me the honor of being my beautiful bride"
