Chapter 5 Chicken is Good, Stake is Better
“Abby? What’s wrong?” said her mother’s voice. She came to comfort Abby in her time of need.
“Mom? When did you get home?”
“Last night, why?”
“Night? Its day, wha.. what day?” Abby demanded
“What day is—Abby are you ok?”
“What day is it?” Abby persisted. Shaking her mother by her shoulders
“Christmas morning, what—”
“Christmas morning! The ghost did it all in one night. Of course they can, they’er ghosts, if they want to come out of an ipad let them. I need to go see Bobbie! Mom do we have any food for Christmas dinner. Fried chicken is great and all but they need a ham or duck or turkey or stake. Yes I bet Tim has never had a stake before. Mom I’m so hyper I don’t know whether to cry or sing or laugh.”
“Abby, what has gotten into you?” said her mother bewildered. Abby was already putting on her scarf, and running out the door.
“not selfishness that’s for sure.” She called over her shoulder
Bobbie was just setting the food on the table. When Abby burst through the door forgetting she had never actually been there. She walked in as though it was her own house.
“Bobbie” she bellowed, “we’re late to tutoring.”
“Abby?” Bobbie said in surprise.
“Why were you not at our session today?”
“You said…” Abby couldn’t hold it in she started to laugh in her face, she never really was a great actor. “I’m just kidding.” Bobbie just stared at her to stunned for words. Abby turned to Tim, “and you little one, I’m going to pay for your medical bills, my dads a doctor. I’m going to see to it that you get better and you grow up to be big and strong. Oh I also was going to bring food.” Abby snapped her fingers “dang it. I was gun ‘a bring stake, do you like stake?” She turned back to Bobbie. “And you, I’m sorry for the way a treated you.” Abby paused to hear what Bobbie had to say.
“Am I being punk’d?” was all she could say.
“YOU MET THE GOHST OF CHIRSTMASS FUTURE TO?”
“huh? Abby I think that book went to you head…”
“you could say that.”
Since that night with the three colorful ghosts Abby Smith stopped focusing on only her self, but of others. She became the CEO of her own company and was truly loved by many. She had many friends but Bobbie was her closest friend. And I, Tim, am now well and grew up to write a book that you have now read. And it was all thanks to Marty’s Happy Holidays foundation.
