Lara and I spent weeks in the cramped cell. We were given small rations of food once a day, barely enough to live on. Once a day, the man who'd organized our kidnapping, who was known as "The Boss," came in and asked us if we were willing to cooperate. He wanted us to play for the Japanese National Women's Soccer Team, which we refused to do. If we talked back to him, we would be beaten. I got beaten more often then Lara, and there were many days where one of us was ready to give up, but we always worked to keep each other going. One day, as always, The Boss came in. "Are you two willing to cooperate?" he asked. "Never!" Lara snarled. "We're Americans, dipshit!" I spat. "We'll never betray our country and play for your fucking team, so you can get your head out of your ass and stop asking us!" the boss's eyes flashed angrily. "Punish her." he ordered. One of the guards stepped forward with a remote. He pressed the button, and an intense shock went through my body. It was pain beyond anything I'd ever felt, but I wasn't going to let it show. "Yeild, you foolish child!" The Boss commanded. "Never!" I yelled. "So be it." the boss said. "Have at her, boys." he left the room, and the guards stepped forward, pulling throwing knives out of their belts. They aimed at me and began throwing. I gritted my teeth in pain as knives sliced my arms, legs, and torso. Suddenly, a knife came flying at my face. I turned my head, hoping to dodge the knife, but it still sliced across my face, leaving a shallow gash under my right eye. Satisfied, the guards left. "Fuck." I growled. "There's a box of cloth here." Lara said. "Let me bandage your wounds so you don't bleed to death." she tore the fabric into strips and tied them around my wounds. "Thanks." I said. "I don't get why they torture us if they want us to play for them." "I don't know either." Lara said. "It's all all so fucking confusing." "Agreed." I said. That night, we both woke to someone shaking us. "Come on!" a voice hissed in my ear. "Quick!" "She can't." Lara said. "She's hurt. They tortured her earlier." the person, whoever it was, picked me up and held me against their body. "Come on! Let's go!" they hissed, beginning to run. I heard the running footsteps of Lara and the other person. We ran out of the place where Lara and I had been held, and to a hotel not far from our prison. I was gently set down on the bed, and it was then that I got a good look at our rescuers. I gasped. "Tobin Heath!" I said. "Alex Morgan?" Lara asked. Tobin flashed me a million dollar smile. "Right on the money." she said. "But...why did you rescue us?" Lara asked. "Yeah." I said. "We're grateful and all, but why us? We're just ordinary fans!" "Not to us, you're not." Tobin said, laying a hand on my cheek. Her thumb gently traced the cut under my eye. "To us, you two are much more than just ordinary fans." Alex said. Tobin leaned forward and kissed me. I was in shock, but I kissed back. "But how did you find out about us?" I asked. "I found your YouTube channel and got hooked." Tobin told me. "I found your Instagram." Alex said to Lara. "Let me get you cleaned up." Tobin said, grabbing a first aid kit. She cleaned my wounds and bandaged them, then gave me one of her shirts and a pair of boxers to wear. "I love you." she said, kissing me on the forehead as I drifted off to sleep.
