Taylor's Mate

My brother and I returned home from upnorth yesterday, both unsuccessful in getting a deer.

Tonight there is a Surpirse birthday party for our youngest pack warrior.
He is turning 17 and has worked since even before he shifted to become a warrior, when he finally got a position last month, he was over joyed and beyond proud of his work.

"It's time to get up, my love." I said softly as I sst next to the still sleeping Jayce.

He snored in response.

"Come on babe, the party will be starting soon." I said a little louder while I shook Jayce lightly.

He grunted and rolled over.

I stood up before ripping the blanket off of him.

"Give it back." Jayce whined.

"No, I am giving you 15 minutes to get ready. Now get your ass out of bed." I demanded.

Jayce quickly got out of bed and sulked over to the closet.

He glanced over to me as he stepped into the bathroom.

The twins were downstairs with Aiden and Cole while Taylor went to the store quickly with Lottie.

After about 10 minutes, Jayce came out. He had taken a 5 minute shower and dressed quickly.

"5 minutes to spare." He said with a smirk.

"I was up an hour ago. I was being nice and letting you sleep longer because you got to bed late last night." I told him sternly.

"I'm sorry Jax." He said pitifully and came over to hug me.

"You're lucky I love you." I said with a small smile.

"I really hope you do." Jayce said with a chuckle before he started tickling me.

I laughed uncontrollably as I tried to push him off.

I yelled for him to stop the best I could through the laughter.

"I guess." He said childishly.

"Now, we're gonna be late you doof." I said and playfully hit him as I got up.

"We're the Alpha's, they're not going to yell at us or anything." Jayde said with a smirk and I just rolled my eyes before pulling him out the room and downstairs.

"Happy Birthday Ryan." I said as we walked into the the room where the party was hosted.

It is to cold to host the party outside so we just held it in the same room where we hold pack meetings.

"Thank you Alpha Jax. Thank you for letting us use the meeting room for the party." Ryan said politely.

"It's no problem for our newest warrior. Are you excited to find your mate today?" Jayce asked as he put his arm around my shoulders.

"Of course, that will be the best gift. I'm so ready to find my mate." The younger boys eyes lit up as he spoke of his excitement.

"I hope you find your mate soon, they are probably going to walk in soon." Jayce joked.

Right after he said that, the front door opened and Lottie and Taylor walked in laughing about something.

Ryan tensed slightly as he stared in their direction. Taylor stopped walked and looked between Ryan and myself.

"Holy shit." Jayce whispered as everyone noticed what was happening.

Ryan suddenly walked quickly towards Taylor before embracing her in a tight hug, putting his nose in the crook of her neck to breathe in Taylor's scent.
