-But the lady was no demon, she was a lonely soul, just like in that book they once read, still waiting for her prince while her hair was on fire, one last time she said;-

Nathanael blushed as he looked down at the sleeping Marinette.

She had fallen asleep late into their conversation, her head bobbing until she finally fell asleep.

Nathanael hadn't left her side all that time.

He stared at her, gently brushing her short hair from her sleeping face as she snored softly, smiling lightly.

"I know this is a horrible time to speak but..." He sighed, "I love you." He whispered, "I know you can't really hear me, but i really do love you." He took her hand into his, kissing the back of her hand, gently rubbing the pad of his thumb along her small knuckles.

"You're so beautiful.." He started, "you have no idea how many times I would have loved to sweep you off of your feet and just... Take you away from everything." He whispered, affection bubbling in his chest.

"I want to keep you safe.." He kissed her knuckles again before he heard a light chuckling.

He stiffened up, turning quickly as the glaring face of Chat Blank stared at him, a lip curled up in disgust.

"What a... Touching... Speech." He hissed, pushing off the wall and approaching them, Nathanael standing defendingly in front of the still sleeping Marinette.

"Stay away.." He whispered, glaring at Chat who narrowed his eyes as well, a match in his fingers and a gallon of gasoline in his other hand.

"She is mine, but now that she seems to be yours.." He trailed off, growling as he tossed the tank of gasoline forward, lighting the match.

"I'll have to burn you to ashes, you idiot painter! If I can't have her, no one can!" He roared, tossing the lit match into the flames, fire going up violently into the air, the entire room catching fire as Chat leapt out the window, vanishing into the night...

Marinette, Ladybug, was dead...

The Adrien side of Chat screamed, only being able to see through the eyes as his love burned, he felt his heart shattering, and all at once, Chat fell to the ground, Hawkmoth leaving his body as grief took over.

It was over....

The young love had died...

And in the dark of the night, a nightmare ended, and a young boy sat up in his bed, gasping as tears ran down his cheeks.

It had all been a dream...

Just.

A.

Dream.
