Kellin's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock beeping. I sat up and yawned before turning it off. I realized I hadn't taken my clothes off after work last night so I took those clothes off and threw them into my hamper before walking into my bathroom. This was probably the best part of the morning, taking a shower. I turned on the water as hot as I could without burning my skin. I got in and quickly washed my body before stepping out and drying my body off. I quickly threw on some skinny jeans and a T-shirt before quickly brushing my hair and telling my parents goodbye before walking out the door on my way to school. I had enough money to buy a car but I liked walking much better and I got to walk to school with my best friend, Katelynne. We used to be together but it just didn't work out. We're still best friends though. As I was walking down the street I noticed her already up ahead of me.
"Hey, Kate!" I yelled at her.
She turned around and smiled at me.
"Hey Kells, how are you this lovely morning?" Katelynne asked happily.
"Ugh, a bit cold, I always forget to grab a jacket." I said while I shivered.
"Oh well, it's warm in class and, oh, did you hear that we're getting a new student today?" she asked.
"No, I haven't heard anything about that." I said, confused.
Our school rarely ever gets new students so this is exciting.
"Yea, I heard that he's actually coming back to school. I think he dropped out during his senior year and instead of him just doing some online courses for some reason the school let him come back." Katelynne said.
"Wow, that's peculiar." I said.
We got to the school and walked in. We had different classes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods so we said our goodbyes, hugged, and went off to our classes. I walked into my first period class and sat down. The bell rang a few minutes after. In my first period we barely ever do anything of importance so I decided to take that time to sudy for a test I had today. After a few minutes the principal came over the intercom and called for me to come to the office. As I walked in my face completely paled as I saw who was standing talking to the principal. I looked down and covered almost all of my face with my hair. The principal looked at me.
"Ah, Kellin. If it isn't my favorite student. I knew you would be the best person to show the new student, Vic, around as I saw that you and him have a lot of the same classes together." the principal smiled.
"Oh, okay. Sure." I awkwardly said.
"Okay, boys. I have some paperwork to do but while I'm gone you two get to know each other and I'll be back in a few minutes to show Vic to his first class and, Kellin, you'll have to show him to the rest of his classes." the principal said before walking off.
"Hi, I'm Vic Fuentes, I actually used to go here but I dropped out and now I've decided to better myself by finishing high school even though I could just take classes online but I think the school environment would work better for me. I really just want to get a better job than the one I have now." Vic said, wow he is such a talker.
"Hey, um, I'm Kellin." I said still keeping my head down just hoping and praying that he wouldn't recognize me.
"Oh, can see that you're not much of a talker. That's fine though because I can do enough talking for the both of us." Vic giggled.
"Yea, I guess so." I said.
Just then the Principal came back and escorted us back to first period.
In the middle of the hall the Principal said "Kellin, lift your head. If you're going to make it anywhere in life you have to walk tall with your head held high."
"Um, yes sir." I was very reluctant as I slowly lifted my head.
When I finally had my head lifted I could tell that Vic's expression changed immediately from happy and cheerful to surprised and fearful. When we got to the classroom the Principal explained to the students who Vic was and why he was back at our school. His seat was, sadly, right beside mine. When we were sat down Vic looked at me with a very shoked expression on his face.
"What? How? Why? Aren't you the guy who works at the place?" Vic stuttered.
"Yes. I am that guy that "interviewed" you last night. Now could you just not talk about that?" I looked at Vic.
"Oh, um, yea. Sorry about that. So, you're still in high school?"
"Yes, I am still in high school."
"So how do you know Oli?"
"You don't know him so it's Mr. Sykes to you and I know Oli because an old friend of mine worked for him before he died of a heroin overdose."
"Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that. So are you and Mr Sykes close?"
"As close as a pimp and a worker can be without fucking."
"So, do you like boys or girls?"
"Why are you asking me so many goddamn questions?"
"Oh, I'm sorry I know I can be annoying sometimes. I just like talking to people." Vic smiled brightly.
"It's fine. And the answer to your question is I like both genders. I do prefer men though."
"Oh. That's cool. I like guys."
"Oh, okay."
Just then the bell rang and it was time for second period. I spent the rest of the day showing Vic his classes and the Principal was right, we did have a lot of classes together. Before I left Vic caught up to me.
"Hey. Just wondering, if I ever need any help could you please help me? I've heard you're the smartest kid in the school." Vic asked.
"Of course, I'm always happy to help a classmate." I smiled at him brightly.
"Okay thanks."
"No problem man." Kellin said before leaving school and going home.
