Still nothing. I stood leaning against the window pane, watching outside as the raindrops flowed down the glass. My eyes shot from every vehicle that passed by, but none were the one I was anticipating. I clenched my fist, letting out a small sigh as I slowly walked back to my chair. I saw down, shaking my leg and staring at the ground. My focus was broken by the sound of screeching breaks and a loud engine coming to an abrupt halt. I shot up from where I was sitting, quickly making my way to the window. I smiled formed on my face when I saw the back of the long, yellow school bus, labeled with the number 17. I watched and waited as students stepped off the bus. The first, I blonde girl. I kept watching. The second, a tall, nerdy-looking guy. “Defiantly not.” I thought to myself. The next student was a young male. He was wearing jeans and a blue tee shirt. His brown hair was put up into a faux-halk. My smile widened. I quickly turned, speeding past the bookshelves and towards the staircase. I slowed my pace as I went down the stairs. I turned the corner, stopping behind a half-wall and taking a deep breath as I listened for the door to open. I closed my eyes and waited. My body was shaking. I was so nervous. I slowly opened my eyes as a heard a light squeak of the door hinge. I slowly emerged from behind the wall, smiling as I saw the young man. He smiled back as I took a step closer. The hair on the back of my neck stood up as a chill went down my spine, but not from fear. It was strange, almost enjoyable. He wrapped his arms around my, as I did to him. I let out a sigh of relief, releasing the hug. He smiled, making me smile wider. Nothing else seemed to matter, all my problems just seemed to fade away as soon as it happened. He focused his hazel eyes on mine, as he muttered a sweet, calm, “Hey.”
