“Hey” I spoke back. He smiled once again. “Where we goin’?” He asked. I nodded my head towards the staircase, taking and backwards-step towards it. I turned around, walking up the staircase. I glanced to my side to make sure the librarians weren’t watching us. I sighed with relief, seeing none of them were even at the counter. I lead him off the stairs and into a large room, filled with magazines and news papers. It was a blue schemed room that was taken very good care of. Close to the fireplace, there was a loveseat, a coffee table and two armchairs. I noticed an elderly man looking at some of the older news papers. I sighed a bit, turning around.
“There’s somebody in here.” His smile dimmed a bit. “Don’t worry, there’s one more spot.” I walked out, turning to the place where I stood waiting for him. It was a small area with a window for a good portion of the wall, 2 chairs and a small table. The carpets were wet and there were small trash buckets to catch the water that fell from the leak in the roof. We sat down, placing our bags over to the side. He kept looking through the old panel window in the wall behind us at the old man looking at the papers.
“Mike.” He looked over at me. “Why do you keep looking at him?” He chuckled a bit with a smile.
“He creeps me out!” I laughed, gently slapping the back of his head.
“Leave the poor old guy alone.” I smirked as he made a pouting face. “Not gonna work.” He laughed, breaking into a smile. I heard him mumble under his breath a quick “Damn it.” I nudged him gently with my elbow. He looked at me with a sly grin before nudging back, a little harder. I smirked while giving him an evil stare, nudging him harder. He gripped his arm and looked at me.
“Ow! Not so hard!” I chuckled, rubbing his arm.
“You know you shouldn’t do that with me. I’ll always win.” He pouted a bit, sinking into his chair.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” I smiled at him, rubbing his head a bit. He looked over to me, crossing his eyes and looking up at my hand. I laughed before gently poking his nose. He blew up on his nose, as if my finger was a fly. I laughed at him.
“You’re such a dork.” He smiled, laughing a bit.
“But you love me anyway.” He rested his head on my shoulder and I grinned, placing my arm around his shoulder and rubbing his shoulder, slowly.
“Yes, I certainly do.”
