Chapter Two

"Aim to the right a little more, Cynthia, Jellal! What's wrong with your aim?"
"Shut up! I'm not perfect in bukijustu like you, Kou."
Fernandez Jellal and Suna Kou. My two closest friends beside Sasuke. They have always known each other, and always skilled in what the other lacks. Jellal has a Yin release, which allows him to manifest the energy of space and matter. Kou has a Magnet release, that allows him to control what he calls black sand. Black sand is just a name of the iron sand one layer beneath the soil. He is also skilled in bukijustu, which is what we are trying to work in right now. I want to get better at this. I don't know why but I feel compelled to learn everything possible. Jellal is always around Kou so it was a package when I asked to be taught.
"Jellal? When did you say you were going on that mission? The one with the kidnapped girl?"
The two of them are A-Rank ninja, and they're our age too. They didn't go to the academy and both are actually from Sunagakure as well. The Hokage has them do high rank missions all the time because she wants them to get better.
"About a hour from now. Why?"
"I don't want to mess it up for you. The girl must be terrified right now."
Kou starts to grin and steps up.
"I think it's funny that there's a little girl out there and we aren't even doing anything. At least until our training's done."
"Shouldn't she be the priority?"
"She's from Sunagakure. I could care less whether she lives or dies. After what they did to me,"
Jellal squeezes his hand and looks down.
"anyone from there should be glad they didn't go through what I did."
"Jellal!"
Kou puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Jellal, calm down. The power you have now is from them. Whether you wanted it or not, it's a part of you now."
"You would never understand Kou! You were never damaged like I was!"
Kou walks away in the direction of their house, not saying another word to him.
"Insensitive. Cynthia! Want to get some ramen before we go?"
"Oh, sure."
We start to walk downtown to Ichiraku's and I decide to ask because I can.
"Can I go with you guys? I have nothing to do today."
"Yeah. I don't mind. You don't have to ask Kou, since he doesn't care about things like that."
"Jellal, please be nice to Kou, you know he got you out of there. He had to leave whatever he had."
"He had no family. I was his only friend."
"He, didn't tell you, did he?"
"Huh? Didn't tell me what?"
"Nothing. He'll tell you when the time comes."
"You're just as bad as him! Saying something and abandoning that thought. You're so weird."
We laugh together and reach the ramen place. I see Naruto and Kakashi eating inside and we sit a few seats down.
"Ah! Cynthia! Whatcha doing here?"
"Hello Naruto. We are eating, that's what. Hold on, we'll have two deluxe bowls sir."
Ichiraku nods his head and starts to make it. Jellal looks over and sees Kakashi, then he speaks up.
"Hey Kakshi! What's up? Aren't you supposed to start working today?"
"Shouldn't you be out saving someone?"
"Eh, that's going to happen a little later. Are you reading Jiraya's book again?"
Naruto slurps up a big amount of noodles and chips in again.
"He never lets me read it! I'm guessing sensei wrote some amazing jutsu, or a story of his adventure! I wanna know what it is!"
I start to laugh and we are served our food.
"You keep wondering Naruto!"
"Are you two on a dat-"
"No!"
Jellal says that very quickly and throws his crumpled up chopsticks cover at him.
"Hey! No littering in my shop!"
"Ah! Sorry Ichiraku! I'll pay double sir!"
I laugh again and eat my food. I urge Jellal to eat his and he's just flustered. After we eat, Kou is just outside the store and is eating a rice ball.
"About time you're done eating."
We all start to walk towards the village gate and as we get there, I pull out two special kunai that I use. They usually sit in my leg coverings, and I use them by throwing them and bringing them back. This technique I learned in a torn book I found in the old Uchiha village. It uses something called chakra threads, and it also read that it's very difficult to learn. I barely can keep the kunai connected to the threads, so it's usually a one way throw.
"Hey Kou, how far are we going to be going?"
"I heard it'll be between Iwagakure's and Sunagakure's free zone. The ninja went to the area without protection because there's a problem with Sunagakure and Iwagakure right now. Something about both sides capturing the same missing S-Rank ninja. Both sides don't want to risk any ninja by going to an area ungaurded by either side. We don't know who the kidnapper is or is from."
"Okay then. Shall we get going then?"
"Yes."
"Jellal?"
"Whatever. I'm just here to kill someone. The kidnapper is mine. Got it?"
Kou looks out at the forest and sighs.
"Don't go overkill. Promise?"
Jellal starts to smile creepily and cracks his knuckles.
"I don't think I can keep that promise."
