DRACO'S P.O.V.

It was Christmas Eve, and Mother, Father, and I were eating our feast. I was barely eating, though. I wasn't very hungry. I had way too much on my mind at the moment, and it was effecting my eating habits.

The Minister had visited my home in November while I was at school. Apparently, he wanted my family to go to the Weasleys' home for "a chat about work" on Christmas day, so I could get some information off of Potter and his little friends, since he knew that Potter and Granger would be spending the holidays there.

So, when the time came and it was the day before Christmas, of course I had my doubts about the plan.

"Draco, dear, what is wrong?" Mother asked. She always notices the smallest changes in my behaviour. It must be "mothers' instinct" or something along those lines, I don't know.

I nodded slightly. " Yes and no. I'm just worried that I won't be able to get into Potter's friend circle and find out their plans, and whether or not Dumbledore is going to attack the Ministry." I said, taking a small bite of my food.

Father put down his fork. "Draco, you have a very important role in this mission. Under any circumstances, do not tell them anything. Got it?" he said with force.

I nodded. "Yes Father. I will not fail you or the Minister. May I be excused?" I replied, putting my napkin on the table.

"Yes, dear. Make sure to shower before you sleep." Mother said. I nodded and brought my plate to the kitchen, then ran upstairs to my room.

I got my sleep clothes and a towel, then showered. I then went back to my room, and got into my bed.

"I need a strategy to get on Potter's good side... But how..?" I said to myself quietly, plopping my head on my pillow with a sigh.

"Potter is such a git, how will this work..?" I whispered. I had a lot on my shoulders.

  Then it hit me.

I raced downstairs to my parents. "Mother, Father, I have an idea on how to become friends with Potter!"

I told them my idea, and Father nodded. "Sounds like you know what you're doing, Draco. I shall make sure that your plan is carried out."

I smiled. Father liked my idea, and so did Mother. It took a lot to impress them, and I had with my idea.

I went back upstairs, my mind clear and with a smile on my face. Mother muttered something to Father, but I didn't hear it, and it didn't bother me at the moment, I was too happy with my idea.

When I got to my room, there was a scratching at my window. I walked over, and it was an owl, white as snow.

"Aren't you Potter's owl..?" I said to it, letting it inside. She flew over to a bedpost and shook her feathers, some flecks of snow scattering at the foot of my bed spread. She turned and put a letter on my bed, and hooted softly at me.

"I suppose you want something, huh..?" I rang for a servant to bring me a bit of bread and a bowl of water.

When I set them down on my desk, the owl flew over and started picking at the bread. I picked up the letter. When I opened it, the words were written in a slightly messy, slanted scrawl.

So, you're coming to the Weasleys' house tomorrow? I can't see why, your dad doesn't even work there, he's just a friend of the Minister's. I suppose you'll have to hang out with us then, since your dad won't want you around when he's talking to Mr. Weasley. We'll be in the top room, the last one at the end of the staircase. I guess we'll see you tomorrow. ~Harry Potter

"Hmm... I guess they know already. Might as well reply..." I said, walking to my desk.

"Stay a little, I'm replying." I said to the bird. She nipped at my hand a little and I chuckled, petting her feathers lightly as I got some parchment and a quill. She twittered and closed her eyes sleepily.

Well, I guess it's not much of a surprise, is it? Father, Mother and I will be there at around 10 AM, so make sure you and Weasley are awake. See you tomorrow, I guess. ~Draco Malfoy

I put it in an envelope and sealed it, then gave it to the owl. "Here, and try to get it there before tomorrow." I pet her one last time and opened my window again, allowing her to start her long journey.

I put the letter on my desk and sat on my bed, setting my head in my hands. I rubbed my eyes, then climbed under my warm covers.

"Tomorrow is going to be an adventure, isn't it?" I said to myself.

My eyes drooped and before I knew it, I was asleep.
