DRACO'S P.O.V.
Harry, Ron and Hermione actually cared. Wow.
They were still hugging me, and I could hear some shaky breaths from Hermione.
"Draco, I'm so sorry... Your father is abusive..?" She said quietly. They pulled away and looked at me. The expression on Harry's face was indescribable... He looked both sorry and confused...
"Yeah... Its really bad, sometimes... But it's fine. I've dealt with it my entire life, but it's been getting worse as I get older..."
"I can weirdly relate, Draco." Harry said, quietly. "My aunt and uncle starve me most of the time, and I used to sleep in a cupboard under the stairs, and in second year, they put bars on my window and locked me in my room, letting me out only to use the bathroom..."
I sat, speechless for a moment. "Are all Muggles like that..?" I asked timidly.
"Heh, no, but they don't really like me." He said, smiling crookedly.
Damn... Potter looks kind of cute... WAIT WHAT NO HE'S YOUR ENEMY. STOP. I blushed a little and looked down.
"Seems like we both had quite the rough child hood, huh? Looks like we have more in common than we first thought." I said, trying to cover up my blush with a statement.
"Yeah, seems like it. Strange, that we've been enemies all this time, when we should've been friends after all. Who would've known?"
Ron still looked kind of worried. "Aren't you ever afraid he might go too far..?" he asked.
I smiled. "Loads of times, but so far it hasn't happened. But," I added seriously, "Can you not mention this to anyone? It'll get worse if you do... Just act as you normally would towards my father downstairs. Can you do that for me?"
"Of course, Draco." Hermione said.
Phew, that's a relief. I told Father another plan, but it wouldn't work out in the current situation. So, I had to say the thing that first came to my mind.
This isn't just some prank to become friends with them, either. I'm terrified of my father, and wish he wasn't so abusive. It can get pretty bad sometimes, and sometimes, I just want to stay at school for Christmas. I have bruises on my back from his cane, and I conceal my face with Muggle concealer. I could've had Madam Pomfrey fix me up, but I didn't want anyone raising suspicions, or asking questions.
So, I wasn't lying when I told them about my father. My original plan was to give some sappy story about my "past," but my overtalkitive personality got the better of me. If Father found out that I told them... I would get my arse handed to me on a silver platter.
I sighed. "I cannot believe I told you. Don't tell anyone, okay?"
Harry rolled his eyes jokingly and chuckled. "We know, Draco. We won't tell anyone. Okay?"
I nodded. "Okay. I'm just a bit worried, that's all... You understand, right?" They nodded back.
Mrs. Weasley called us down to the kitchen. When we arrived, I noticed that my parents were gone.
"Oh, Draco, dear, your parents had some business to attend. They will be back by 9." she said.
I nodded. "Oh, alright. Er, thanks for letting me know, Mrs. Weasley." I answered awkwardly. It was good for me, though, seeing as Father wasn't there.
The wonderful scent of her cooking filled my nose as I looked around, staring at all of the delicious looking food and pudding on the table. "Wow, this looks amazing. How did you manage to cook all of this in such a short time?"
She chuckled with a wave of her hand. "Oh, don't worry about it sweetie. Living with the rest of these boys (and Ginny) gives you a bit of skill, cooking for such a large family."
"Ah, makes sense. Well, it looks magnificent. Thank you, by the way. For having me."
She smiled at me. "Don't worry about it, dear. It's our pleasure."
I smiled a rare smile, and glanced at Ron. He looked shocked, seeing as he usually heard me making fun of his mother, not complimenting her. But, I guess a guy can change.
I smirked at him when she walked off. "What, not used to me complimenting your mum, huh?"
"No. Definitely not. That's pretty strange, Draco."
"Well, I am your company after all."
He nodded slowly, and sat at the table. Harry sat next to him, and motioned me to sit beside him. Hesitantly, I did so. Hermione sat next to Ron.
The rest of the Weasley's joined us at the table, and after we all said "Grace" we dug in. I have never had better food in my entire life.
When Mrs. Weasley brought in the pudding, I was very shocked. It looked absolutely stunning. Harry obviously noticed the surprised look on my face, and laughed.
"You look like you've never seen a pudding before, your expression is hilarious." He snorted.
I scoffed at him jokingly. "Yeah, right. It just looks fantastic is all."
After we ate, my parents still hadn't arrived back at the house. I guess they forgot about me...
Arthur checked the time on the clock on the wall. "Well, Draco, it seems your parents haven't arrived yet. If you would like, you can spend the night." He offered.
I thought for a moment. It does sound like a good idea... And it'll get me out of another beating from Father... Oh what the hell, why not?
"Um, sure. Thank you, Mr. Weasley." I said timidly.
"It'll be a tight fit, but it'll work, right boys?" He asked Ron and Harry. They nodded.
"We'll figure something out." Ron said.
So, we walked upstairs back to Ron's room, ad looked around. I didn't really see anywhere that I could sleep, as far as I could tell.
"Confused, huh Draco?" Harry said, standing next to me.
"Yeah, a bit. Where do I sleep?"
He rolled his eyes, as if it were quite obvious. "You can sleep with me of course. Or, sleep on the cold hard floor. It's up to you."
I blushed. I'd rather sleep with him than on the floor... I sighed. "Oh alright. I'll sleep with you. But don't think of it as anything, alright?"
He chuckled. "Yeah, whatever Draco."
Yes I'm fully aware it isn't Christmas anymore, or even close for that matter, but this was sitting in my drafts and I couldn't ignore it. So here it is! Hope you liked it!
