"Oh look at that one, he's kind of handsome."
"Sofie," I said looking her in the eye. "He's from England. He's on the opposite side."
"I know," she sighed. "But think of it. Think of the romance." She placed her hand on her heart and fell back on the grass.
We both started to laugh. When one of the passing soldiers nodded at us which made us laugh even harder.
"Well seems like my prediction is right." Sofie said smiling.
"Your engaged! And to my brother for that matter!" I said throwing up my hands.
"Yeah but your not." She said as though it proved her point.
"But," I said as she frowned at my attempt to prove her wrong. "I'm still being corded."
"Where is Matthew anyways?" She asked saying his name as though it was a sin.
"Probably helping father or something." I said laying back in the grass.
"Well he's only been cording you for 3 years and you two have only known each other your your entire life before that. If he doesn't propose soon then sorry but it's not happening." Sofie said.
"And that means that I should go after a Red Coat?" I inquired.
"Yes." Sofie said sitting up. "What else would you do?"
"Well for starters, not that." I said also sitting up.
"What ever." She said waving her hand. "Besides opposites attract."
"What?" I asked confused.
She repeated what she said but I heard her clearly the first time. I had heard that statement before... along time ago... From... a boy... a drummer boy... named William-
"Hello earth to Elizabeth." Sofie said waving a hand in front of my face, taking me out of my thoughts.
"Oh sorry," I said. "But I have to go." I got up and started to run to my house.
"Oh okay," Sofie called, "I guess I'll see you later then."

"Where is it?" I asked myself while digging around my room.I found 'it' soon after with my clothes.
I sighed with relief as I pulled out the button that was attached to a string.
I held it to my heart. "Oh William. I'm so sorry that I forgot."
William had given me one of his buttons to remember him by when he left. I had promised him that I would always remember him but here I am 8 years later and William was almost forgotten.
