It was a rainy day. I was knitting in a chair across from our fire but my mind was somewhere else. William had been here for two weeks and we had seen each other quite a bit in that time.

Both my parents were out calling on people and Elijah was somewhere in the house doing who knows what.

I heard a tap on the window and turned to see what it was. William stood on the other side with a motioning hand.

I shook my head, but still smiled. I sat down my knitting and hurried out the back door.

We had been talking, and walking around the woods for hours. It never stopped raining, and even though neither of us would admit it we were both freezing and extremely wet. However neither of us believed that, it was a good enough reason to be apart.

We were walking side by side when William slipped his hand into mine.

I shot him a look. "William."

"What?" He shrugged.

"Don't you know that I'm already taken." I said in a flirtatious manner.

He rolled his eyes, "your not married yet."

"Of course I'm not married yet," I began, "I'm not even engaged."

"Yeah well that's his loss." He said quieter then usual.

About twenty minutes passed as we just walked in silence. Still hand in hand, but in silence none the less.

Then I stopped. I pulled my hand out of his grasp and started to play with it nervously. ,

"What is it?" William asked turning to face me.

"Well... you see..." I said not sure exactly how to say it. "I... well... umm... I think that... I think that I may... that I may be falling in love with you." I blurted out the last part.

Silence.

He just stood there not saying a word. But did I really expect him to? I mean how could he say that he loved someone like me? Someone so different. But he did say that opposites attract. Right?

So I tried again. "I am falling in love with you William. But I need to know if you can catch my heart."

He was quiet for a second longer then he spoke. "I want to be with you it is as simple and is as complicated as that, for it has become impossible to not be in love with you. So yes I will do anything and everything in my capability to make sure to catch your heart."

I smiled and looked deeply into his eyes. Before I could even know that it was coming our lips were touching. I had never felt this way before and I truly felt complete.

After a few moments William pulled away and looked up to the sky. "You know," he said. "I love the rain. It is truly peaceful and pure. Just like you."
