*Kimberly's POV*
It had been two months since I first met Taylor in Disney and it's been crazy!
Ever since we sang together at performance square, the video went viral! I've seen my face on magazines, and people campaigning for me to get a record deal.
It's so surreal! And it doesn't help that Taylor has brought me on stage at EVERY show to sing
But as much as a dream come true as all of this is, I can't help but shake the overwhelming sadness that I've felt since I found out my parents died.
I've been trying to hide it from Taylor, but since her mom and her barely leave me alone for a few minutes.
I mean come on I'm hiding out in the bathroom right now just to be able to gather my thoughts.
"Kimberly!!!" I heard Taylor scream.
I sighed and wiped my tears away and pushed open the door.
"I'm right here." I croaked
Dang! You could tell I had been crying. I hoped Taylor didn't notice, but when I looked up, I saw the grin on Taylor's face fall.
She didn't say anything, but she just pulled me into a hug, and I started to cry again. She rubbed my back comfortingly until I calmed down.
She pulled me back and sighed "Kimberly I thought you knew you could trust me."
I saw the amount of hurt in her eyes and felt my heart clench. How could I hurt the person who's given me so much?!
I sighed and said "It's just it feels like everyone expects me to be okay by now, but I see them everywhere I go."
Tears streamed down my face again, and Taylor wiped them away.
"Kimberly I understand. Nobody expects you to be okay overnight, but you have to know that you can't just bottle up your emotions either. Try writing them out.
I sighed, and Taylor handed me a pen and paper, and started strumming her guitar.
"I don't know about this Taylor...."
I stammered.
Taylor just smiled at me and said "It'll help K. I promise."
I nodded, and started to sing as I wrote.
For the next four hours, Taylor played and helped ,e out with words and phrasing until it was perfect. Then she played around with the chords on guitar until we thought they sounded perfect.
Taylor jumped up, and pressed the record button on the recording device that she kept on her so that she could record if she got any ideas while she was on the road.
She handed me a sparkly red microphone, and started to strum on her guitar.
I took a deep breath, and began to sing.
"Seems the only one who doesn't see your beauty
Is the face in the mirror looking back at you
You walk around here thinking you're not pretty
But that's not true, cause I know you...
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go... and no one knows
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
I guess it's true that love was all you wanted
Cause you're giving it away like it's extra change
Hoping it will end up in his pocket
But he leaves you out like a penny in the rain
Oh, cause it's not his price to pay
Not his price to pay...
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go... and no one knows
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go... and no one knows
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
You're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone... oh
Goodbye, baby
With a smile, baby, baby"
I finished and saw a tear roll down Taylor's face as she played the last chord.
Without words, I just pulled her into a hug, and we stayed like that until we reached the arena, and Taylor pulled me with her to sound check.
I smiled and watched this incredible person do what she loved on stage from the sound booth with Andrea. Taylor looked so happy as she danced around and grabbed the hands of lucky fans.
*Taylor's POV*
After the show we all loaded back onto the bus, and I grabbed the chip from the recorder, and uploaded it unto my laptop.
I thought for a minute, and sent it to Scott. I smiled, knowing that Kimberly would be so excited. I ran around the bus to tell her, and found her slumped on the couch, sound asleep.
I smiled and threw a blanket around her.
Suddenly my manager John and Mom came up, and Mom looked... mad. I've never seen her this mad!
I looked to Mom in confusion, and she spat "John doesn't think that adopting Kimberly would be a good idea for your career. He suggests you let her go into foster care instead."
I looked at him, but all I could see was red. "Are you kidding me?!" I whisper screamed, not wanting to wake Kimberly.
John tried to look stern, but was faltering at the look on our faces. "Well it's just she could really hold you back Taylor. It may not be good for your image and..."
I cut him off and said "I don't care she's already my little sister, and nothing anyone says or does is going to change that. And I know that if my fans really love me they'll understand!"
John looked at me in shock, and just as he was about to argue, we all jumped when we heard the door to the bus slam.
I ran toward the door, and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw that Kimberly wasn't there.
"Kimberly!!" I screamed and frantically searched the bus.
What if someone kidnapped her or something?!
Suddenly my Mom approached me in tears. "Taylor.. Taylor she's gone. She left you this."
I grabbed the piece of folded paper and read it. I felt the tears stream down my face as the message sunk in.
Dear Taylor,
Thank you so much for everything you've done for me. You've become like a sister to me, and you're really the friend I never expected, and I'm so blessed to have gotten to know you, and how kind you are. I know you would never give me up willingly, but if it's the best thing for you, I don't want to hold you back. I'll never forget you, and I hope you understand. I'll always love you Tay.
Much Love, Kimberly
