“PERCY WAKE UP!” I shot out of bed, my hair clinging to my now damp cheeks. I wiped the tears and sweat from my face, looking at Sarah, who I’m guessing is the one that woke me up. She frowned at me and kept silent, knowing that this happened often and there is nothing you could do to make me feel better. She kept telling me that it was just a dream, slowly bringing me back to reality. That was the worst nightmare I have had in a while, must have been all of the chocolate.

I took a deep breath and sat up, letting my strewn mess of hair go where it must. Sarah took her hair tie and handed it to me, allowing me to tie up my hair. “Thank you.” I croaked out, my body finally relaxing from what seemed like hours of horror. “Anytime, that’s what I’m here for.” She smiled, getting up and dragging me to the kitchen. “Why are we going to the kitchen?” I questioned. “I am hungry you got a problem with that?!” she yelled. I giggled and shook my head no, following her to the kitchen. I had always loved her kitchen. It had black tiled flooring and mocha walls. The island in the middle was a perfect dining area while she had so much counter space that I didn’t even know what it is all possibly used for. It was all in all a beautiful room.

Sarah got out the ice-cream tub and walked back to her room, using a large spoon to get out the frozen desert. I looked at her with envy, wishing I could eat like that and not look like this. My figure was too much of an hourglass, my hips were large, I didn’t have a thigh gap, my bum was too big and my shoulders too broad. My whole image just screamed fat. To me at least.

I mentally sighed and got back into bed, covering myself and lulling myself back to sleep.

I woke up to the bright light shining into Sarah’s room, my eyes squinting to adjust to the light. My mind was blurry as I slipped out of bed, stretching my limbs while doing so. I looked over to Sarah, her body sprawled in every possible corner of the bed since my departure. I walked over to her and shook her hard, waking her from her deep sleep. “Go away I’m tired!” she said angrily. “It’s already noon and I have a date today! You need to help me get ready!” I cried. I heard her sigh as she stood. “I swear if you didn’t have a date with your crush of 4 years I would not get up.” She mumbled, going to the bathroom. I giggled and picked up my phone, seeing the screen light up as I unlocked it to see my new text message. My lips curled up as I read the name ‘Alec’ across the screen.

Alec: hey Percy! J How does lunch sound? Pick you up at 2??

Percy: hey! Yeah I’d love to! Should I dress up?”

I typed in the message and sent it smiling, waiting for a reply. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and hair before going back to check my phone.

Alec: wear something semi-casual. :)

Percy: okay! I will see you later!

I finished my messages and went straight to the closet in Sarah’s room, looking for the dress I left here after a party we went to. My eyes scanned around the room until it landed on the navy-blue fabric. I smiled at it and took it off the hanger, carrying it with me to her bathroom. “IM TAKING A SHOWER!” I yelled to Sarah. “OKAY!” she screamed back. I giggled at our childish behavior before hopping in the shower and cleaning up.

I stepped out of the shower in my, well Sarah’s, towel. I dried off my body, then slipping some panties and a bra on before pulling my dress on. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and smiled. I actually felt pretty in this dress.  It was navy blue, and fell right before my knees. It had a sweet heart top with a sheer halter over it, the waist was pulled in right under the bust, making my curves prominent yet subtle. I loved every aspect of this dress.

I brushed my hair and let it air dry as I walked out to Sarah, sitting at her vanity and instructed her to do my makeup. “Get ready to look hot!” she said giggling and taking out all of her makeup, which mostly consisted of my stuff I had either left here or she had taken. I closed my eyes and felt the sweep of brushes on me, my mind going into another place.

My thoughts brought me to the possibility of what could possibly happen in just a short while. Maybe he would be my first kiss, maybe he will realize how impossible it is for a guy like him to be with a girl like me.  Maybe I won’t look good enough for our date. Maybe he will be embarrassed of me. My mind was racing with horrible thoughts and ideas of how this could go wrong.

“annnddddddddddd. DONE!” I was snapped out of my thoughts by Sarah. I slowly opened my eyelids to reveal a person standing in the mirror I had never seen. My hair was naturally in its straight form, Sarah gave me a grey smoky eye, displaying my yellow-orange irises in the best way. My cheeks had a slight pink tinge as a result from blush, and my lips had a soft pink gloss on them. Perfect. I smiled and ran over to her and gave her a big hug. “Thank you, I look perfect” I smiled. I have never felt pretty in my entire life, but I know for sure I feel beautiful right now.

“Anytime babe, now go find some shoes! He’s gonna pick you up in like 2 minutes!” she squealed, running down the stairs, probably trying to find something to eat.  I walked into the closet and looked at Sarah’s shoes, picking out a pair of navy pumps. I slipped them on just in time to hear the doorbell ring. I grabbed my wallet and walked down the stairs. I took a deep breath and walked into the foyer. “Hi Percy.”
