My jaw dropped open in shock At what lye before me. There was a 'zombie' lying there, struggling. More like half of a zombie i guess... It had no legs, and only one arm. The first woman who had been causing a commotion was right. It was revolting. Its intestines, and ribs were falling out and smearing against the pavement, its arm was skinless and skeletal... and it was grasping for me.

"step back"., I said to one side of the group.

Then, without thinking, i scooped up the cold body, and watched it helplessly moan for my flesh. I knew how HE felt. I knew that if i were him, i would want to die. Quickly.

I stared into his flaming scarlet eyes, and waited a few silent moment for him to develop an animal-like trust for me. Then, i whipped the gun from my holster. Pulled the trigger, and got Fergusson to deal with the mess.

I had entirely forgot about the people who stood around me and watched with terror in their eyes. They all were gawking with their mouths plopped open like fish. I shoved them all aside and dodged past the twenty-something train carts, the tank, jets, and all of the vehicles. I examined the area that i now had to call home, and thought about the reality of the life that i had been forced to start living.

I chose to walk back over to where i shot the zombie. I felt glad, and relieved to see Dean there.

"Hey, Captain Dee-Bear, Mcsnuggleson!", i said cheerfully.

" That's Sargent fergusson to you."

"More like Sargent grumpy-pants."

I saw him grin slightly then, he looked up at me, and our eyes met. We both held our breath for that second, and all was calm until he looked over at that dreadful woman.
