Jace's POV

James and I were heading to the park when it happened.

A bunch of girls had come running over to us, screaming for pictures and asking tons of questions.

All we could think of was to run, so that's what we did. We ran and ran until we found a sweet book store place.

We ran inside and one of the employees locked the door, and took us to the back of the store. The back of the store was a small room with bean bags, stuff animals, and children's books.

"I'm sorry we just ran in here and had you locked the shop." I apologized to the worker before turning around to face him.

I instantly fell in love.

The worker was tan, had an adorable smile, and seemed only a year older. His hair was perfect and was raven coloured.

"I-I" I couldn't form any words, James had elbowed me in the ribs. I huffed as the boy laughed a bit.

God, even his laugh is adorable.

I was staring but the boy didn't seem awkward about it.

"Don't worry about it, mate. My names Calum. Calum Hood." He held his hand out. His voice was perfection too. It was a sweet Australian accent that I would love to hear every singe day for the reast of my life.

"I-I'm Jace," I shook his hand and turned to James. Who, by the way, was staring at the two of us with a smirk.

"This is Jace Lawley. I'm James Storan." James shook Calum's hand next.

"I like your accent, what's it a mix of?" Calum asked James. James smirked at me, dang my American accent.

"It's part British part Irish. I like yours too." I nudged James in the ribs and he just shrugged with his arms in the air.

"Okay, well, stay back here. I'm going to check and see if anyone is still out there." We both nodded our heads at Calum as he walked away.

As we waited, I listened to the music playing and smirked. I faced James who was reading a Child book about dogs.

"Hey James," I said. "hm," he answered. Eyes not moving up from his book.

"What song is playing?" I asked, the smirk never leaving my face.

"No, no, no, no, no, no. Jace, I swear. If you start singing, I will leave and never talk to you again." James said with his finger pointed at me.

I smirked and started singing, "I told her that I loved her, was not sure if she heard. The roof was pretty windy and she didn't say a word." I got closer to James and he groaned.

"I said you're on fire, babe. Then-"

I was cut off from my singing with someone clapping slowly behind me. James patted my shoulder as a blush made it's way onto my face. Making my cheeks turn bright red.

"You have a nice voice, Jace." Calum smiled and the blush on my face only grew a darker colour.

James coughed, noticing us staring at one another and said, "is anyone still out there?"

Calum tore his eyes away from mine, "um, no. I think they all gave up after you came inside here. What was all that about? If you don't mind me asking."

I looked over at James and he just nodded his head for me to tell him. All I told him was to look up our names. 'Jace Lawley and James Storan'.

I expected him to look it up and ask for pictures, but what we got wasn't what I expected at all.

"No"

"What?" I was completely shocked as he just handed me his phone.

"I'm not going to look it up. You both obviously have some reason why those girls were chasing you all, but I want to be friends with you guys. I want to have you both to know that I like you guys for who you are, not from some label or parents."

I smiled for probably the tenth time today. Calum just makes me happy, so I went over and hugged him. He blushed a bit, but then I felt him hug back.

"Hey, don't leave me out!"

Then I felt another body hug us and laughed at James.

After hanging out with Calum for a while, we exchanged numbers and left the book store. James and I walked home and talked about the fans and everything that happened.

And maybe I fangirled when Calum texted me later that night.

But no one needed to know that.
