A beautiful girl with long, caramel hair and giant brown eyes stood nervously at the door. She kept her arms tight to her slim body. She wore a plain black dress that was skin tight. She looked lost.

I couldn't keep my eyes off her, I couldn't loose her. Wandering into the other room to examine the ice sculpture, I followed to stand on the other side. The music was loud in my ears as well as a lot of people talking and laughing. The red, purple and blue lights changed the mood in the room. Green also flashed rapidly from the other room.

She didn't have any expression on her face. My heart skipped a beat as her eyes met mine. Waiting for a sign, I smiled at her. She didn't smile back. As she walked away, I watched, rotating my head.

Grabbing two drinks, I followed her. The music was more upbeat and loud and the lights were now blue and green. "Thought you looked thirsty." The girl spun around and I gave her her drink, smiling.

"Is that your superpower?" She asked as I raised my eyebrows signalling her to go on, "You can sense dehydration?"

I looked up and tilted my head before quickly gazing back into her stunning eyes, "One of them."

She stood in the doorway as I stood in the hallway, holding my drink in one hand, "Ah. Frat boy, right?" She must've spotted the uniform I was wearing, "I think frats are full of fascists." I didn't feel offended at all. Not from a girl as lovely as her.

"I don't mind being reduced to a stereo type but," She kept eye contact with me as I spoke, "I'm on a scholarship. My mom lives down in the Ninth Ward. Besides didn't you come here with a movie star?" I chuckled as she rolled her head with a big smile on her face.

We were soon standing in the middle of the stairs. Closer together this time.

"Really, a finishing school?" I asked still holding my drink.

"Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exeptional Young Ladies." Zoe rolled her eyes.

"Wow"

"I don't want to talk about me anymore, okay?" This girl was different from any other girl.

"You're the first hot girl I ever met who didn't want to talk about herself." I smiled with her, "There's got to be something wrong with you."

Nobody spoke for a few seconds.

"I know you have a boyfriend." I sighed, hiding my face with my hand.

"No, I don't." As she finished her sentence I moved my finger away from my eye to look at hers. "Kyle, I like you." My hand was now away from my face. "But it's not gonna work out." Even though she said this, I didn't give up.

Zoe looked up "Have you seen Madison?" Then back at me after finishing her sentence.
