"Sarah, come on! We're going to be late!" I yelled, zipping up my purple dress.

"Okay, okay. Calm down Mags." she said, walking out of the bathroom in a long, blue dress.

I smiled at her, we were going to a club. I grabbed my purse and yanked her out of the door to our friend's car. We both sat in the back. He was eight-teen almost nine-teen. "Thanks for driving us, Cody. I owe you."

"What kind of payment were you thinking?" He winked at me playfully. He started the car and pulled into the road.

I shook my head as we got to the club. He parked and we all got out of the car.

"Maggie, I thought you said this was called Pandemonium." Sarah said, looking up at the sign.

I knew what she was seeing, I saw it too, but Cody didn't seem to notice it, the letters on the sign disappearing to where it only said 'demon'. I shook my head and pulled her in the front door.

We got in and the music was blearing. I notice a lot of black inkings on their arms. We all walked over to the bar and sat down. The bar-a-tender walked over and handed Cody a pick drink.

"Tell him he doesn't want to drink that." A boy with blonde hair and tats all up his arms told Sarah.

I heard it too and tapped Cody on the shoulder. "Don't drink that."

He shrugged and put it down, pulling me to the dance floor, Sarah following close behind us.

I saw a black figure slip in with two teens behind it, looking at the blonde boy at the bar. He nodded and the girl unwound her bracelets from her wrists, a gold whip, and the boy, who was slightly older, pulled a bow and arrow out from behind him. An arrow hit the creature right in the chest and I screamed, hearing Sarah do the same.

The tatted trio grabbed us and lead us outside. "How can you see us?" the girl demanded.

"Isabelle, calm down. I'm Alec Lightwood." The older boy explained.

Sarah frantically grabbed a piece of paper out of her pocket. I knew what it was, this symbol she's been drawing for days. "What is this?!" she screamed at the trio.

The blonde bot grabbed it and stared at it. "Neither of you are mundanes, I knew it. I'm Jace, by the way."

We both looked at each other in confusion. "What's a mundane?"

"Someone from the human world, come with us." Jace explained.

"What about Cody? We can't leave him in there."

"He's a mundane, we can't bring him." Jace snarled and grabbed our wrists, pulling us over to three parked motorcycles.

We both jerked away from him, causing them to look at us. "If we're not human then what are we?" We asked at once.

"Shadowhunters, and you need training." Jace answered, briskly.
