Vortex's POV:
"Every dragon has a weakness," I continued to Seastone, teaching her some battle techniques. "A SkyWing's weakness is ducking under their fire and scraping their underbelly."
We had all decided to start giving Seastone a few classes. Me with battle, since we're related and we have the same techniques, Storm with hunting, since he was the best at it, and Wind with escapes, like how to escape a prison.
Galaxy and and Blizzard didn't want a part in this, because Blizzard noted he was too big, and Galaxy too small. Apparently.
"What's a SeaWing's weakness?" Seastone said, making a check in her scroll with black ink.
"SeaWings are complicated," I explained. "Although there's one technique that you will want to know for later on. Go for the gills. If you can get some fire in there, they will most likely flee."
Seastone finished writing it down in her scroll and yawned, all her pure white teeth flashing in the sunlight. "Is that the end of today's battle class?" She asked, stretching out her gold-brown wings.
"Yes, and by the way, good job today." I said.
"Thanks." Seastone yawned again, then went up and curled on her ledge. I took one of the smooth, soft brown bear carpets on the floor, flipped it over, and put it on top of her scales. Her talons stayed outstretched like they always were when she was asleep.
Storm swooped in from the cave entrance, grinning. "She looks like she did good today."
I nodded.
Seastone's POV:
After a short nap, I placed my scroll onto the new, shiny neat bookshelf Storm made me. I talked to Vortex, who said I could go on a short hunting trip. I picked up the scroll from Storm's training yesterday and opened it.
Hunting Class With Storm
Note 1: If prey escapes, shoot fire in a circle around it or in it's hiding place.
Note 2: If you can't find any prey, get some fruit (and bring some for Storm)
Note 3: Bring a basket to put all your prey in so you can collect more
Note 4: If you're going for fish, dive in the water, sink to the bottom as long as possible, and when you're ready, keep your talons outstretched and use your long claws.I swooped out of the cave, my scales shifting back to blue. My wings looked prettier now, with gold veins running through them. Carrying a birch basket in my talons, I dropped it in the moss and dove into the water.
Since I had no gills, even in SeaWing form, I could only hold my breath for five minutes. I spotted a large tuna and let out a jet of bubbles, surprised.
Kicking harder with my tail and back legs, I dove for the tuna. It swam faster and faster, almost escaping my talons.
But it wasn't fast enough. I snatched the fish in my talons and brought it up to the surface, shook it to get the water off, but it in the basket, and went down again.
After a few more tries I came up with two silver flopping fish. They were so annoying I thought I might as well eat them right now.
I put the blanket over them and brought the basket back to our sunny cave. I placed them in a flowing row of bright light to dry off, then took the the tuna out.
I sliced it into four pieces, gave one piece to Galaxy, Storm, Wind and me, then gave Vortex one silver fish and Blizzard, too.
They all said I was pretty good at hunting. Even Storm, which I was shocked by. He could catch twenty sheep in two minutes.
