"Mrs and Mr. Jackson, I home!" Eve exclaimed as she shut the front door and kicked off her shoes.
"Why don't you call them mom and dad? I always wondered about that." Hazel said from the stair case.
"Oh....erm...I'm not sure." She caught her off guard."No practice today?" She asked changing the subject.
"Nah, I quit." She said as if it were no big deal.
"What! But it's your dream! You love it!" Eve said freaking out.
Hazel shrugged, tears sting her eyes. Eve understood. She ran over to Hazel and squeezed her tight. Hazel stared to sob.
" I wasn't good enough! They kicked me off the team and repaced me with some slut!" She shouted in between her tears.
"Hazel, I'm so sorry! She's just a slut compared to you, you know that!" Hazel nodded her head in her shoulder. "Your the best cheerleader Rosewood high school will ever see!" She nodded again. "Got it?" She nodded a little more. Hazel continued to sob and Eve continued stroking her red hair.Keith
She's mine...I need her back...I love her...I can't live without her...she's mine. I will do anything for her. I didn't mean to hurt her. I couldn't let her leave me... I couldn't let her go. I'm a monster. I don't deserve her.
The memory of her blood on his hands sent him trembling in rage. He punched the mirror in his bedroom.
"She is mine." He growled.Eve
Eve couldn't get that boy out of her mind. Something about him felt so familiar. Warm. But also cold. Eve needed to get him out of her mind. Mrs.Jackson was with Hazel now, so there's nothing further she needs to worry about. Eve ran down stairs, put on her shoes and zoomed out the front door.
"Trevor!" Eve threw herself around his shoulders when he opened the door.
"Eve? What-"
" Because I wanted to see you! And because I love you!" Eve giggled. He wondered what she meant by that, but the one thing he knew for sure is he wanted to hear those words every day till he died.
"Now let me in." She demanded before he could tell return her words. He compiled.
She plopped on his bed with a yip.
"We have a new student!" She bounced giddly
"Oh?" Trevor froze, back facing her he lissened.
"Yup! I can't stop thinking about him, something about him seemed so familiar. And he looks so sad. I should be his friend, he needs m-" Suddenly Trevor was on top of her, he had her pinned to his bed.
"I need you!" The words fell out of his mouth before he could stop them.
"I - I mean...He's not who you think he is..." he wants to take you away from me again. I won't let him. I love you.
"Promise me you'll stay away from him." She looked away, he squeezed her wrists tighter. "Promise me, Eve!" He said firmer. "please... I'm begging you. I'll do anything just please, promise me you'll stay away from him," was something in his voice that made her look up at him. There were tears in his eyes, Trevor was the most stoic person he knew, she had never seen him cry, she had seen him get angry, but never cry.
"I promise" She whispered, pressing her knees closer together.
Trevor exhaled and fell on his back beside her. They sat there for a while staring at the ceiling, then Trevor rolled on his side and faced Eve. She was turned towards him curled up I'm a ball with her hands under her chin. She was asleep. He brushed her hair from her face and cupped her cheek.
"I love you. I aways have. I always will." He whispered before he pressed his lips against hers.
