Madison and Eve exchanged looks when the doors and windows slammed, followed by the elimination of the lights. Students huddled  in corners and under desks while Madison and Eve stared blankly at the closed door waiting for a familiar blond to barge in safe and sound.  Instead a scream, a female scream was quickly silenced by a loud pop just a few classes away.
Eve let out a small noise as Madison pulled her away from the door and under a row of desks. Screams and whimpers  exploded at the sound of the first gunshot, but then went to full on wails and sobs as the gun went on rapid fire, still just a few classes away, Eve could hear the victim's cries.
Six steps closer.
Another round of bullets.
Screaming.
Six more steps each louder than the last.
Another round.
Now they could her the clinking of falling metal.
Five steps stopped at the other side of the door
Dead Silence . . .
Madison had Eve rolled up in her embrace, stroking her hair as she whispered,
"It's going to be okay. Your going to be okay I promise. I lo-" The deafening blast of a million bullets sent Eve sobbing into Madison's sweater.
She gasped, the sudden burst agony in her thigh took her breath away and she stuggled to stay consious. Vision fading, mind spinning, her hand investigated the damage, but when her nose caught the sent of blood everything when black.
