It was a nice warm day, Erik was sitting in the park while reading a book. Curtis was walking around the park, holding his teddy bear close. Erik saw Curtis and didn't like the idea of a young child being all alone. He walked over to Curtis and asked

"Where are your parents?" Curtis opened his mouth to answer but then smiled, saying "Broder!" and hugged Erik close. Erik was confused but held the child.
"What's your name?" Erik asked, Curtis laughed and said
"Don't be silly, it's me, Curtis!" Erik wasn't sure what to do. He knew Curtis was a child and could be fooled easily.
"I'm sorry. I hit my head and lost some memory. I can't even remember where mom is." Erik said, Curtis said
"That's okay, I can't either. Is your head better now?"
"Not really. I still can't remember something's. Where do you live?" Erik said, Curtis said "Nowhere now." Erik felt bad that Curtis had nowhere to live. He had to do something.
"Wanna live with me?" Erik asked, Curtis grinned and nodded. "Yes please!" he said excitedly. Erik smiled and hugged Curtis. He then asked
"When was the last time you ate?" Curtis said "Maybe a day ago... I can't really remember."
"Wanna go get something to eat?" Erik asked, Curtis nodded and said "Yes Please!"

Erik smiled and picked Curtis up and carried him to the diner across from the park. Erik set Curtis down in a seat and sat next to him. He handed Curtis a menu and said "Get whatever you want." Curtis grinned and said
"I want pizza and coke!" Erik nodded and called the waitress over. He told her his and Curtis' order. The waitress frowned and said
"Coke has too much sugar for you. Wouldn't you prefer something else to drink?" to Curtis. Curtis said
"Aw but I want that." The waitress said "It has too much sugar. Wouldn't you prefer a root beer or cream soda? How about some juice?" Curtis said
"Can I have apple juice that's frozen like a slushie?" The waitress nodded and said
"Mhm." and left to go tell the cook Erik and Curtis' order. Curtis smiled and hugged Erik. "Thank you, Jesse! You're the best!" Erik hugged Curtis and said
"You're welcome." he then asked "Was anyone taking care of you before I found you?" Curtis said
"I was at a foster home... I ran away."
"Why would you run away?" Erik asked, Curtis looked down sadly and said
"They weren't nice..."
"I'm sorry." Erik said and held Curtis comfortingly, "Well big brother is taking care of you now and I won't be mean to you." Curtis smiled and said
"Thank you, big broder!" Erik smiled and continued holding Curtis. The waitress then came by with their drinks and gave them to Erik and Curtis. She then said "Your food will be out shortly" and left.

Curtis nodded and started drinking his drink, thinking it tasted good. Erik drank his drink, a Japanese soda called Ramune. It's peach flavored.
"Wanna try some peach Ramune?" Erik asked, Curtis said
"Ew a Ramen noodle drink?" He thought Erik meant the soup that sounded like "Ramune"
"No. Ramune. It's a soda. Usually fruit flavored." Erik said. Curtis then smiled and nodded, saying
"Yes please." Erik handed the bottle to Curtis. He didn't tell Curtis how to handle the bottle so he probably wouldn't get anything. You have to handle the bottle a certain way in order to drink it. Curtis was confused and spilled some on the table. He sniffled, feeling bad. Erik wiped up the mess and said
"It's okay, just an accident. Here, let me show you how to handle the bottle. There is a marble in the bottle and two indents. You tilt the bottle so the indents catch the marble. Okay?" Curtis nodded and tried it that way, getting a drink. Erik smiled and asked
"Is it good?" Curtis nodded and said
"It's sweet!" Erik smiled and said
"I got more at home. And you can have all you want cause I got plenty and they have very little sugar in them." Curtis smiled and said
"Thank you, you're really nice!" Erik smiled and held Curtis. Then the waitress came over and gave them their food.

Curtis was very hungry and instantly began eating. Erik had ordered a burger. He started eating as well. Curtis liked the pizza and drank more of his juice. Erik drank some more of his Ramune and kept eating. Curtis said
"Where do you live?"
"I live somewhat deep in the woods." Erik replied. Curtis said "Can I go in the woods?"
Erik shook his head and said
"No. Too dangerous. There are wolves in the woods." Curtis said "Aw no fair"
"The wolves could easily hurt and kill you" Erik said, Curtis said "But why?"
"Wolves can be very vicious. They are carnivores, meaning they eat meat, and you are made of meat. They see you and they will want to eat you." Erik said, Curtis nodded and said "Okay..."
"If it makes you feel better, when we get home you can play with Felicity, she's my pet wolf, though she's tame. That means she won't hurt you." Curtis smiled and nodded "That sounds awesome!" Erik then realized how dirty Curtis is and said "Well, first you need a bath." Curtis nodded and finished eating.

Erik finished eating as well. He saw Curtis was done and said "Are you still hungry?" Curtis nodded but said "That's okay." Erik said "If you're still hungry you can get more." Curtis smiled and said "You won't be mad?" Erik shook his head and said "If you're hungry then I want you to eat. Why would I be mad?" Curtis didn't want to say and just shrugged, saying "Can I have a burger and fries?" Erik nodded and called the waitress over. He told her Curtis' order and the waitress asked Curtis "Would you like another drink?" Curtis nodded and said "Now can I have a coke?" The waitress shook her head and said "No. It has too much sugar." Curtis sniffled and said "B-Big broder, the mean lady won't let me drink anything." Erik looked at the waitress and said "I'm the one who decides what he drinks, give him the coke." the waitress sighed but nodded and left. Curtis hugged Erik happily after she left. Erik smiled and hugged Curtis. He then asked "Seriously, why would you think I'd be mad if you wanted more to eat?" Curtis said "B-Because my foster parents would..."
"Well I'm not them, and if you're hungry then you eat, okay?" Erik said, Curtis smiled and said "Yes!" Erik smiled and hugged Curtis.

The waitress came over with Curtis'food and gave it to him, Curtis smiled and dug in. Erik ordered another drink and started drinking. Curtis was eating a bit fast, needing to slow down.
"Slow down or you'll choke. I'm not gonna lose you." Erik said, Curtis nodded and swallowed. He liked that Erik really cared for him. Erik drank some more Ramune, this one being grape. Curtis ate slower and relaxed. Erik realized he would have to go shopping for Curtis.
"Wanna go shopping for clothes and toys once you finish?" Erik asked, Curtis said "Yes please." happily. Erik smiled and took a sip of his Ramune and asked "How old are you?" Curtis said "I'm five." Erik nodded and said "Finish up so we can go shopping." Curtis nodded and did so, wiping his mouth. Erik paid the bill and picked Curtis up, carrying him to the car. Erik buckled Curtis up and then got in the drivers seat and started driving off to Walmart. Curtis happily watched out the window.
