Sighing, I pulled myself to my feet. I looked back in annoyance to see Jay following me. "Don't you have something better to do? Like go and visit your weirdo family...?" I growled, but was shocked by his reply. Jay's eyes were glowing with hostility. "I can't... They're dead..." He muttered coldly. I flinched. "Every single one of them?" I asked.
"Yep." Came the reply. I didn't say anything, feeling disappointed and awkward. I stared at my feet as I walked. "The only person I have left is my mum..." I turned to him. Jay only shook his head and sighed. "I need to tell you something... I-"
I thought about what he was going to say. "I don't really like you... In that way?" I interrupted. Jay rolled his eyes. "Could you just listen please?" He waited for me to fall silent, which I did. "I'm part of a training academy... You look like you'd be a great addition to the team... You need some... Battle practice though..." He muttered. I was slightly offended, I went to punch him. "What do yo-" I was cut off as he kicked my legs from underneath me, sending me flying. He grabbed me and flipped me over, slamming me to the floor and putting me in an armlock. "Ahh! What the hell?" I yelled, as I lay there winded.
"Sorry, instinct..." He laughed, helping me up. "I'll forgive you I guess... So where's this 'training academy'?" I asked, making quotation marks with my fingers.
Jay laughed. "It's right there." He smiled, pointing to a large, palace looking place, then leant against a tree, a small flame bouncing on his hand. He looked across at me with vampire-like eyed, and sharp fangs were visible, almost as if they were vampire teeth. I stared at him in disbelief. "Come on, let's get you geared up and let's train you..." He muttered, leading the way. I soon darted after him. "I-i have so many questions!" I exclaimed, still puzzled by his abilities. "Save it for later..." He muttered, walking inside.
