...Boring

The sound of boots clicked throughout the corridor. A young woman quickly walked down the dark hall. Her black Gothic style dress flowed around her body. Her long dark hair trailed behind herself as she walked a brisk pace toward her destination. Stone's lined the towering walls beside her. The bricks were grey, uneven, and sharp in some places. The raggedy edges were throughout the entire palace. The echo of the clicks from her boots continued as she reached a door. The door was made of solid wood with consistent and detailed designs flowing around the edges. The girl pushed the door open; it made a slight creak when it did. Inside was a room filled with candles that illuminated the space. An old chandelier seemed to be hanging from the ceiling, daring to drop and crush whoever was standing under it. Walls soared up to unimaginable limits, so much that the top of the ceiling couldn't be seen. If there even was one. Anything could happen here, a dangling chandelier wasn't anything special. Enormous columns filled the room, cracks in some places which made it look like it might split in two and break off. This made it hard to tell which way the girl needed to go. It was her first time summoned here, she didn't know what to expect. That's exactly what she liked about this world, it was unpredictable in every way. She turned left and right a couple of times, trying to find her way through the maze of columns and corridors. The walls seemed to shift and make new routes, never going down the same path twice. Dead ends would appear making her have to turn back and look for another way. She sighed in annoyance and shouted out in a powerful voice, "Stop this and take me to Akuma!" The walls seemed to stop reforming and a path way made for her. She stepped through holes in the walls and sides of columns that were now missing, yet they still stood in place. A hallway filed with heads of different expressions filled the path she passed through, her dark dress flowing behind her swift movements as she traveled down this path, not caring for the pain or joy some of these heads showed. She knew she didn't have to go to Akuma, and she wouldn't get in trouble. But, she knew if she didn't do anything there would be no more story to follow in the crazy world, and therefore no more twist and turns which made her excited to be here. That's what made her create this world in the first place eight years ago. Back then it was a little less disturbing.

One of the heads in the hallway suddenly came to life, "Miss, save us. Our souls are trapped and we are forever in pain here. Please sa-" The head was sliced in half, an explosion of blood splattered in the hallway. The girls face was emotionless, her grey eyes stared dully at were the head used to be. She continued walking, unaffected by what had just happened. Her dress now had blood stains on it, and she cursed about how the "damn" head ruined her clothes. A voice filled the hallway. One with no concern, content, emotion, care. A monotone echo in the corridor she passed in.

Eventually everyone goes mad here, no matter who they are. The madness of the world fills your mind and there is no going back. Why would there be when you so desperately wished to be here in the first place? A place where nothing makes sense, where you control most anything. You turn cold and emotionless, nothing affects you anymore, and to make people in the real world think you are sane when you become bored of this world, you wear several different masks, for you are unable to conjure up any of those emotions anymore; joy, sadness, frustration, anger, being scared, disgusted, surprised, jealous, envious, embarrassed, choked up, confused, rebellious, prideful, and many others. You can't see what you have done to yourself, only I can. I am the joker, one who see's all and brings nothing but despair. I will ruin your life, I will tarnish your soul, but I will grant your wish.

These words simply past through her ears, not interesting enough to get her attention. Almost nothing was anymore. She had been here, too long.  She needed something new. Something different from different.

The walls surrounding here became narrow as she passed through, closing off behind her signaling that there was no turning back from this point. She slipped through the narrow space and made it out into an open area. There was a fork in the road, and two boys stood by each side.

"Brother, look!"

"A girl, a girl!"

"She's quite average though..."

"But we haven't seen one for years!"

"But, isn't it "Alice"?"

"...I think you're right..."

"Does it matter to you?"

"Well, if she wishes it, she could make us not exist anymore..."

"True... but what the point of being in her world if we don't at least try to make it interesting for her?"

"But I don't want to go away quite yet..."

"Come on, lets play! I know you want to brother..."

"..... fine, I'll play, but you go first."

"You've always been such a wuss."

"I don't care what your opinion is on me! Only "Alice's" matters. No one else's does, or they go poof, so she remains the main character."

She couldn't tell which one was saying what, for they were both wearing a jesters mask on their faces. Covering up whoever was saying what, and their expressions. "Left or right?" She questioned.

"No, no! That's not how the game goes!"

"This first game is easy, you'll surely get it!"

"Now, one of us lies and the other tells the truth!"

"At least for this game."

"Phrase a question where you can go the right path with only seven words!"

"Good luck! Oh and you only get three tries, if not, we get to play with you! Deal?"

Without a second thought she said in a robotic tone, "Deal."

"Yeah! We finally get to play with someone!"

"This will be fun!"

"Maybe she won't get it!"

"And we will be done!"
