A long day. That is how all of Barny's days were: long. This day would be no exception.

These were all the thoughts running through Barney's head as he gets up from bed, quickly heading to the bathroom to relieve himself before heading to his dresser to get his regular attire for his job.

As he walked into his kitchen he turned on his TV in his living room to catch a few minutes of the regular news. He started making coffee as the headlines started up.

In other news, the Rose Dealer has struck again, killing three teenagers, who's names have not been given to the public, as per usual the mysterious killer has left a black rose on each victims chest, over another rose carved into skin-

"Same old, same old" Barney says as he grabs his coat and walks out the door, getting a blast of Michigan winter air as he steps over the threshold and walks to his car, locking his house up as he leaves.

As his car starts up, he can't help but notice a strange man walking down the street. It's not that the man is strange in general, but more that his attire is strange, in the middle of a January Michigan blizzard, the man is walking down the sidewalk with nothing on but a suit and tie.

The man and Barney make eye contact for a split second, the man's eyes narrowing as he sees Barney, and starts to walk over. Barney quickly backs out of his driveway, and starts off down the street towards work. The strange man had given Barney a feeling of fear as he stared into those green eyes that looked akin to a snakes.

Even as he lost the strange man in the distance, he felt his snakelike eyes following him.

After multiple hours of hard work, by lunchtime, Barney had all but forgotten the strange man in a suit, pushing himself to focus on his work and not everyday wierd occurrences.

As Barney looked out a window positioned next to his office, he thought he caught a flash of black against the white background. After scanning the many buildings positioned around his workplace he decided it was just his eyes playing with him, and such did not notice the dark figure in a suit standing in the shadow of two buildings, it's green eyes surveying Barney's every move.

Completely oblivious, Barney headed to a coffee shop adjacent to his work building, thinking about what he should have for lunch. As Barney neared the figure in between the buildings, it backed deeper into the shadow, disappearing entirely.

"I'll have the chicken tenders with Fries please." Barney says as he sits down at a table, a waitress coming to meet him. She nods and heads toward the kitchen, yelling the order to the cook.

As he gets comfortable and waits for his meal, he starts to survey the shop though gets bored quick as he sees no one from his job.

He is about to go up to the waitress and ask for his order when someone sits across from him. Barney blinks for a second before freezing, turning to get a better look at the newcomer.

It's a man with brown hair, green eyes, and a black suit on, with a rose on his lapel.

"Hello, I believe you are the one who drove off so rudely from my presence this morning, are you not?" The strange suited man asks Barney, who was still stunned from the mans appearance.

"Well yeah, What if I am? I think I have a right to drive anytime I want, rudely or not, it's a free country." Barney says defensively as he comes back from his surprise.

The man chuckles lightly before taking the rose from his lapel. As he twirls it between his fingers he speaks, "free country or not, being rude can get you killed in a number of ways, for example, let's say if you went into a bar and said to a mans wife that she was a disgusting tramp, the husband might pull a knife on you or blow a hole into you with a gun, and all because you couldn't keep your mouth shut." He says all while twirling his rose and staring at Barney's face for a reaction.

Barney had started to sweat at the point where he said being rude could get you killed, and was downright nervous at the end of the strange mans tale. Wanting to get his food and leave, Barney tried to hurry the conversation, "so what do you want anyway mr.."

"Lovely, or Mr. Lovely to be formal"

"Okay... So what do you want then Mr. Lovely?" Barney asked, worried of Lovely's intentions.

"I'm simply here to ask you if you'd like this quaint little flower." Mr. Lovely says as he places the Rose in front of Barney.

Barney looks at Mr. Lovely and the back at the rose before laughing lightly and getting out of his chair.

"I think I'm fine Mr. Lovely but thanks for the offer, now I need to get going, or I'll be yelled at for being late to work." Barney quickly says, making up an excuse to leave.

"Are you sure?" Mr lovely asks, an unsurprised look on his face.

"Yes I'm quite sure"

"That's quite the shame then, quite the shame." Lovely says as he tucks the rose back into his lapel and rises from his chair.

Barney turns around and starts to walk away, thanking his lucky stars that the conversation was over.

"Man I thought I'd never get away from that creep." Barney says to himself as he passes a dark shadow placed between two buildings.

Barney sudden stops as he gets a dark chill down his spine, turning slightly to look back at the dark alleyway. He gets closer, his feet moving on their own as he hears something in the darkness.

Accept the rose.... Accept the rose....

The same line over and over again plays in Barney's ears as he gets closer trying to see the speaker. As he comes face to face with the pitch black alleyway, he leans forward straining his ears.

Accept the rose.... Accept the rose.... ACCEPT THE ROSE!!!!

The voice suddenly screams into Barney's ear and a hand reaches out, the arm covered in a black sleeve, and grabs Barney by the roots of his hair and drags him into the darkness, where his screams are silent to everyone else.

In other news, another victim has been claimed by the Rose dealer, and was found dead in an alleyway, with the same markings as the other victims. The police are still trying to figure out when Barney Rosemund was killed, as co workers remember him going out to lunch and the not retur-

The TV is shut off in the same coffee shop Barney went to for lunch, by the same waitress who served him.

"Crazy isn't it? Another man claimed by that rogue killer, and that was just a few buildings away from here!" The woman says to a suited man who lightly sips coffee while listening to her. As his eyes open to reveal almost snake like green pupils, he smiles.

"Yeah it's crazy but it seems to almost be getting normal now, doesn't it mister?" The woman says with a smile to the suited man. He smiles back and nods, pulling the rose from his lapel.

"Would you like a rose?"
