I wiped blood from my nose as my abusive boyfriend continued to beat me.I loved him,I really did,but I don't know how much longer I can do this.He grabbed a handful of my hair and forced me to look at him.
"Look Jacob,you are NOTHING.You do exactly what I say with no ifs,ands,or buts about it.Understand?" I nodded.He slammed my head into a nearby wall.I yelped out in pain and held the back of my head.
"Do you understand?" He yelled in my face.
"Yes." I answered frightened.
"As far as I'm concerned now,I am your God.You don't do anything without my approval.You don't eat,sleep,or breathe without me saying so.Understand?" He asked.
"Yes." I answered.He let go of my hair and pushed me into a wall.I hit my head so hard that I made a huge hole in it.I rubbed my head and sat up.By now,he was laying on the couch and watching TV.
I hate myself for staying with Ray.I should've left him when he first got abusive,but I thought I always caused it.I would do and say these things that would make him so upset.But I didn't mean to.As I stood up,my mom walked in with a handful of groceries.I winced as she kissed me on my cheek and walked in the kitchen.
Ray glared at me. "Jacob,go speak to your mom and help her with the groceries." I quickly walked into the kitchen and did as I was told.
"Hi mom." I kissed her cheek and put the fruits and vegetables where they belong.
"Hi?" She said confused.After I finished putting groceries up,she started laughing.
"What do you want Jacob?" She asked.I knitted my eyebrows in confusion.
I shook my head. "Nothing Ma,just wanted to help you.I know you've been working all night."
At that moment,Ray walked in.He hugged Ma and kissed me.
"Well I'm about to go home.I don't want my mom having a hissy fit because I skipped curfew."
My mom laughed. "Okay.Bye Ray." She frowned at me, "Jacob aren't you going to walk your boyfriend to the door?"
"Yeah Jacob,walk me to the door." I followed behind him as we walked.We stepped out on the front porch and held hands.
"You know I love you right?" Ray said.
"Yeah,and I love you too." I replied.I knew what he would do if I didn't say it back.
"Good.See you later." He left and drove off.I walked back in and sat on the couch,running my hands through my hair.
I don't know how much longer I can do this.
