Some hours passed. Nurses were in and out of the room to check on Aubrey. She was half way dilated. Pops, Eric, and Cindia arrived with baby Liam shortly after I had arrived. Soon after that my sisters showed. Now we were just waiting for Aubrey's family. Being that there were so many of us, everyone wasn't allowed to be in the room. So mom stayed in the room with us and eveyone else was in the waiting room. Every once in a while mom walked out to update them. I refused to leave Aubrey's side. Finally her parents, her sister and her little brother arrived. Her dad and her brother stayed in the waiting room with the rest of our family while her mom and sister came in. "How's my little bee?" Aubrey's mom said. "I'm good mom. You know me. Besides, Bruno's been right here next to me the whole time." - "Of course he has" she said and hugged me. Her sister stepped forward and came to hug her. "I can't believe it's time. I'm gonna have a little baby nephew now!" - "I know! Isn't it crazy?" - "Very!" her sister Amanda said. I smiled at them. "Will you be staying in here for the delivery?" I asked her. "Ummm. I'm not sure. Aubrey?" - "I would love for you to stay. Also, Bruno and I wanted to ask you something. Bru?" Aubrey stated and looked at me. "Oh, right. Well, Aubrey and I were wondering if you'd like to be the baby's Nina? I said that right didn't I?" - "Oh my gosh! You want me to be the God Mother? I would love to! Thank you!" Amanda said her eyes getting watery. She hugged Aubrey tight and then hugged me too. "I didn't think it was possible but now I'm even more excited to meet him" she said and we all laughed. I grabbed Aubrey's hand and smiled. I knew my wife had to be in so much pain right now because I saw the numbers rising on the machine, but she was being a damn trooper. Every time the numbers shot up, she would give my hand a gentle squeeze. As if she was being careful not to break my hand. Caring about me when she was the one enduring all the pain. "That's my Aubrey. Always so tough and caring about everyone else!" I thought to myself. I raised her hand to my lips and kissed it. Then the nurse came in to check her again. "Okay folks, this baby is just about ready to come out. I'm going to go call the doctor and I'll be right back in here! Okay?" - "Okay" Aubrey and I said in unison. Then she turned and left the room.
