Part 7: Target Found

The air is stale and cold. I try to fill my lungs, but all of my muscles scream for me to stop. I roll to the side. Something is different. The ground beneath me is soft. My eyes open, and the blackness soon is gone. I squint, because surrounding me is nothing but white. The walls. The floor. The bed.

The bed?

Where am I? I think. Trying to sit up fails. All that comes out of my mouth is a strained gurgle. What happened?

My eyes start to feel heavy, and they fall closed. Across the room, the door begins to creak. A sense of dread kicks in. Arms flailing to find the covers, I open my eyes, and in the doorway, a dark figure appears.

"So you've woken up, I see." A strangely fimiliar voice blurted. He stepped into the light and revealed who it was.

"Lesley?" I chirped. My voice was still messed up. He leaned on the doorframe and watched me. Staring.

"What." I became uncomfortable. Using my arms to prop myself up, I felt a sudden pain in my head.

"I don't know. You tell me." Lesley's expression stayed the same. I studied him for a second before replying.

"First, tell me where I am." I swallowed hard.

"My house." He looked away. His arm grabbed hold of the shiny metal knob. In one swift movement he shut the door. Facing me, his back slid down. Lesley sat on the ground. "I'm just glad you're okay,"

I dragged my finger across the injured area, wincing. Giving it pressure, I could tell it was swollen, and that there was a small gash.

"Catch." Lesley said, tossing over an icepack.

"Thanks," I replied. Pushing with my left arm, I was now sitting completely upright on the matress.

"Check your phone." He ordered.

"O-okay?" A bit confused, I scanned the room for my phone. Next to the bed on the white carpet, the phone was laying. I scooped it up and quickly pressed power.

On the screen it read:
